Amazingly tasty pizzas and other foody treats from the wood fired ovens and a smorgasbord of excellent drinks to compliment. Friendly folk with a roaring wood fired stove. The perfect companion to camping : )

Visited for a bite to eat with my kids on Saturday. A very pleasant pub with a good ale selection & decent food. Congenial host & great surroundings. The pub seems to be thriving these days & long may it do so.

My Wife and I stopped for a light lunch on a quiet winters day whilst driving up the Hardknott Pass. The place is quite large and very walker and dog friendly. This was handmade and put on a tray in a fire pizza oven. This was honestly the best pizza I have had. (Better than my beloved pizza express) I am...

We stopped at the woolpack inn half way through a 7 day hike - very much in need of a rest. This was a casual place ideal for hanging out and planning the rest of our trip. Service excellent ( thanks Ferguson), food good, beer plentiful. Good local feel In a remote corner of the lakes. Some might say the...

The Woolpack is in an idyllic setting not far from the Hardknott Pass in Eskdale. Facilities are basic but adequate but the staff are fantastic which elevates it to a lovely place to stay. There is a little room full of information just past reception which we only discovered by accident on the day we left - brochures, maps of...
