My husband and I stayed at Overwater Hall for a short break. We'd booked it largely because of it's recommendation as being dog friendly, and it just didn't disappoint. A beautiful building, grand and comfortable. We were delighted with our room, large, clean, comfortable, beautiful view, tea/coffee, homemade shortbread, fresh fruit and flowers, homemade nightcap. It was perfect. We slept...

It is quite a while since I stayed here with my friends I now realise what I have been missing. The food here is the best I have had out of all the hotels I have stayed in and around the Lake District area. The owners and staff are very friendly and can not do enough to make sure you...

This was our 5th visit within 8 months. It was for my wife's birthday and I requested a number of things from the hotel such as flowers, a balloon, drinks and chocolates which were carried out exactly as requested. We tried the Garden Room this time which was perfect with having a dog and for a very up close view...

As regular visitors to the Lake District we have stayed in several different hotels and have our favourites in various locations. We keep returning to Overwater Hall for the fantastic food and great customer service. Each course of the menu is delicious and we know we will have difficulty in choosing our dishes. Presentation of the food is also excellent....

Just visited overwater hall today for my mams 50th birthday. Seven of us had afternoon tea. Sandwiches, scones, cakes, biscuits and cheesecake where absolutely delicious all of this was home made. I have been for afternoon tea at lots of different places and this was the best afternoon tea I've ever had! Both service and food amazing!

We chose not to eat in the hotel as it's menu was a bit too fancy for us, £50 per head for 4 courses. Other than that, this is a stunning place to stay. We were in a turret room, with panoramic views across the countryside through 4 windows. Varying tariffs depending on how you book, we paid £150 for...

Living in Cumbria we made the decision to take a break right on our doorstep rather than go further afield and I'm glad we did! Everything about the hotel is most welcoming - the setting, the rooms, the friendly staff. The food is excellent & there is an extensive wine list to suit all pockets and taste. It's no wonder...
