Fabulous, delicious and original food (4-course dinner plus appetisers and petit-fours); large and very comfortable rooms; lovely treats (home-made shortbread and home-made liqueur in the room). Had a lovely night here, the room was amazing and the bed so comfortable. We went down for dinner had a drink before hand. The food was beautiful, service was faultless followed by a lovely breakfast. Cant wait to go back.

We found this hotel by a random internet selection. What a find run by the long time owners, comfortable rooms, lovely walks with red squirrels. A really good restaurant not cheap but excellent food and service. Talked to three couples all of whom are stayed...More

A wonderful stay - management and staff delightful and welcoming - hotel lovely in a lovely setting - food superb - and extremely good value for very fine cuisine. We will return - especially as they welcomed our dogs!

We booked at the last minute and have to ask "why were we able to do this?" when the hotel is so good. The place is a traditional, small (only 11 bedroom) country house hotel that is what the term "country house hotel" conjures up...More
