An excellent place for a drink or a meal after a long days walk in the lakes. We stayed on the camp site below and the inn was a warm and welcoming place to eat. The staff are friendly. The food is very good and they allow dogs and muddy boots!

Just returned home after a 2-night stay on a deal; B&B with dinner on first night. Will definitely return. It's a typical Inn/pub catering for everyone and dogs so don't expect all fresh white paintwork. Pub and room were always warm, staff very friendly and helpful, room clean and bed comfy and although the en-suite in room 8 was tiny,...

Camped on the Sykeside site for many years and always wanted to stay in Brotherswater Inn. What a gem! Excellent base for walking, very comfortable, clean and warm room. Bar serves very good meals and nice range of real ale at very good prices! I was travelling alone and staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

We visited around Easter time. Walked in and got a table straight away at 18:00 although it was nearly full. Menu is smallish but everything that came out of the kitchen looked fantastic. I think we pay'd £10.95 for the fish and my girlfriend had the steak and ale pie for a pound more. Fresh Haddock, no question lightly battered...

We stayed on a deal for two nights bed & breakfast, which included cake and a drink on arrival and dinner on the first evening. The cake was excellent as were all of the meals, the staff were friendly and welcoming but didn't offer to show us the room or help with bags. Luckily we didn't need any help. The...

Beautiful location, simply furnished clean en suite room, good food & beer.Very pleasant efficient helpful staff ! Only real downside is that it has more the appearance/atmosphere of a restaurant predominantly with hard seating which is okay for a while but can lead saddle soreness ! A nice cosy area in which to chill out after a meal would have been welcome....

We have just returned from an overnight stay here on a B&B (and dinner) deal. The Inn is in a great location between Windermere and Ullswater just down from Kirkstone pass. There are some lovely walks to be had and if the weather is wet the food, the log fire and the Wainwrights beer is worth staying indoors for- and...

Initial impression of this site was superb, location is stunning but staying in a tent we had to use the on site facilities, these were old and run down, toilets and toilet doors were broken and nothing was especially clean. Disappointing considering the cost of camping here.
