This is a great and friendly pub with obvious local support . The beef is home reared on their farm and the steaks are the best we have lasted in a long long time . Guest ales very good. Would recommend this place
We booked for evening meal on the strength of the latest reviews , this has served us well but in this case not so

We frequent the Moorcock regularly due to its great ambience, food, service and general hospitality. Good beer too. Food is served all day until 8pm. The guys are always welcoming (a very pleasant change these days) and deserve to make a huge success of this...More
Very disappointing food and atmosphere - baguettes home baked and served practically uncooked - Pate resembled tinned dog food - inedible. Would need to be desperate to go again.
Chip looked ok but don't go beyond that!
Have been to this pub a few times & eaten here twice. Food is great really tasty. Staff really friendly. Beer well kept. Have sofas by the fire which is great to sit by & have a cup of coffee. Can really recommend this pub
