I have stopped here several times whilst doing the C2C cycle route and cannot fault the place. Lovely staff, great rooms, great food, super bar (try the Wainwrights!). The hotel has a large car park .

A very pleasant hotel with comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast. Had evening meal in bar which was freshly cooked and delicious . I had gammon and husband had cod and chips which he said was very good. The reception after funeral was held there and we were offered the use of the room during the following day at no extra...

went for a meal with work colleagues - this is the best restaurant we've been to in the Whitehaven area although selection was limited the meals were excellent served by pleasant, courteous staff who had "we can do attitude to all our requests" - very highly recommended

Ate lunch at The Chase twice in the last week while in town on holiday visiting family. Both times despite booking our tables either hadn't been reserved or were for too few people. However we were accommodated in the end! The Sunday lunch was brilliant value, £13.50 for three courses. The garlic mushrooms were among the best I've had. On...

A hotel with OK room, good staff, lovely breakfast and everything clean. We got what it said on the tin nothing extra, we would go back. Right price and clean, happy with that we also had a quick beer whilst football was on, not too pricey

No one on reception, had to seek staff out. Then told hotel not serving any food. Not helpful as I needed an evening meal! Room was very tired and dated, though it was warm, plenty of hot water and felt safe. Breakfast options were really limited. Overall I was pretty unimpressed. Place feels like it needs investment of money and...

Often go to the chase for Sunday lunch and it is always gorgeous food. Last time we went tho there was no mash just new potatoes which i don't like, should always have mash on a Sunday dinner, there wasn't any starters on that the kids would eat either. Would be ideal if there was a kids menu and always...
