Decided to take advantage of the Jan/Feb BOGOF offer on afternoon tea, and very nice it was as well. It's nice to be able to have a option to have more savoury and less sweet. Nice sandwiches, the usual, cucumber, egg and ham, a sure winner. Savoury additions of pie and scotch egg, nice friendly staff and plenty of tea.

Situated in the middle of nowhere this nice hotel offers typical british style. The Personnel was very nice and the rooms where clean and cosy. Rooms are in a building seperated from the main building but only few meters away. The time it took that warm water came from the tap was quite long. Don't miss the good restaurant there!

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review following your recent stay with us and, glad to hear, that on the whole, you stay was enjoyable. I do appreciate your comments regarding the water however, the main water tank is situated away from the rooms, hence the delay in getting to the taps. I hope this small inconvenience will not prevent...

Firstly all staff really pleasant and friendly. Rooms in separate annex and though old decor very cosy ; clean and quiet despite being next to a busy road. Good breakfast with anything hot cooked to order. Restaurant in a nice conservatory with nice views. Good choice of pub like fare and no complaints about quantity and quality of food.Overall a...

Dear Guest Thank you for your kind review following your recent stay and delighted to hear that you enjoyed your time with us. Allocated a superior room (8) in the outbuilding - which stands comparison with any top quality hotel. Room had literally just been upgraded to a very good standard. Spotlessly clean, big bed, flat panel smart tv and excellent en suite facilities. Nice and quite, despite being just off main road, allowing a good nights sleep. Bar with restaurant. No traditional...

Dropped in for lunch on our way back from Whitehaven (not the worlds best destination! - but it could be with a big makeover). Warm welcome and soon sitting in the conservatory with good views over the western fells. Lunch menu had a good choice and the food was good but the accompanying veg was different to what we were...

Arrived in the afternoon having driven from Manchester. Reception were friendly and knowledgeable once logged in we were given clear instructions on where to find our room (29). The room was pleasing and looked like it had just been decorated. Decorators were still doing some rooms. The wooden furniture had a distressed look to it but I would suggest a...

Dear Guest Thank you for your kind review following your recent stay with us despite the nature and purpose of your visit. Thank you for pointing out the loose knob. I'm quite surprised the housekeepers have not mentioned this as they are usually excellent at reporting such issues but rest assured this will be remedied immediately. I would also like...
