Check in was easy and we were helped with our bags. This is a quirky (and that's a very good thing) and charming, well-run hotel. We are both fed up with soulless chain hotels so this fitted our bill perfectly. The room is huge with a very comfortable four poster bed and all amenities. The bathroom is a little dated...

A lovely looking hotel with friendly staff but the decor and rooms are tired. The shower was of 1970s vintage and hardly was able to deliver a dribble of warm water. Everything is old fashioned which is fine if you like travelling in time, but at the price charged you'd be better off at the Travelodge around the corner.

We received a warm welcome from David - Our room was a good size with a lovely big four poster bed - which was impressively dressed. The bathroom was also spacious with a roll top bath and shower. Breakfast was very well cooked and presented - staff were very pleasant The hotel is in a good location close without being...

The Station hotel retains it's period charm whilst being clean and nicely decorated. David was friendly and helpful and his restaurant recommendation was spot on, the Basement Thai. Breakfast was most enjoyable and the staff friendly and efficient. Clost to the centre of Ashbourne it was a great base for seeing the area with all the convenience of the towns...

Very good value for money. Huge room with four poster bed. Friendly, helpful host and delicious breakfast. Central location in Ashbourne. Would definitely return if we are in the area again. A nice surprise.

We spent a brief time at The Station Hotel mid-week following a funeral in Mayfield. We were made most welcome enjoying an excellent meal at just that point in the evening (7.30pm) when a hotel might have been expected to dispense with the chef and offer sandwiches. Food was really delicious, although the vanilla custard was rather more bland than...

Stayed in a twin, and would go back again, location great for a very short walk to the pubs and restaurants. Trail across the road for a run along the old train track. Breakfast was very good, but bathroom could have done with better lighting, bedroom was a fair size, bed a little creaky.

We were upgrade by our host and stayed in the four poster bedroom, plenty of space and comfortable bed. Tea, coffee biscuits in room. Shower was good, there was nothing in the room to complain about. Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your recent stay.
