We stayed here for a weekend while attending a music festival nearby, which meant coming back late at night. Very comfortable room with everything you might need, great breakfasts, helpful and accommodating host. Would definitely stay here again.

Our two night stay at Pioneer House turned out to be a great experience, I hadn't done extensive research when choosing a place to go for our three day mini-trip but luckily found we had picked a great place. The owners are both lovely, made a good fry up and gave us some great insight into the places we hoped...

We were visiting a friend and needed an overnight stay. Pioneer House fitted the bill perfectly, being close to the station and with the bus stop outside the door, and the breakfast went down very well. Janet, the book about the dam is Deep Secret by Berlie Doherty!

A short-notice trip to attend the Bamford Community Society's open meeting about the future of their local pub, the Anglers Rest. Warm, comfortable, attractive and immaculately clean room, with a welcome from Janet and David to match. A lovely bathroom with all mod cons in a traditional style, and a rolltop bath you can swim in. I'd expect to pay...

Stayed here for two nights for a wedding in the local area. Room was clean and better decorated than the pictures do justice. Great facilities and warm, homely atmosphere. Owners were nice, helpful and discrete too. Breakfast was very good with everything you could ask for. Will use again if in the area.

We stayed two nights here and could not fault a thing. David and Janet were most accommodating. The bedroom was excellent with en suite shower and all those little things which make a stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast, at a set time, was very good and we enjoyed sitting round the table chatting to the other guests and learning why...

“Room one has a lovely large bath.”

“Having the room with the bathtub included worked great for us- it was also nice and quiet with a pretty view from the window. If you plan to use the buses, get acquainted with the times and routes. The services we needed all passed by the house but times were not always ideal and sometimes limited when you are staying there during the weekdays- keep an eye on when they run!”
