As a regular visitor to the area and in particular Castleton our normal accommodation was unavailable. Looking for comfortable and reasonable accommodation with twin beds can sometimes be a gamble.. I shouldn't have worried. Alan confirmed the booking and that the beds can be made up as twins - despite a last minute glitch with working hours we had to...

We stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Alan, the owner, made our stay very comfortable and pleasant. Our room was cleaned, beds made and supplies restocked in the morning. Breakfast was delicious. The village, itself, is lovely, with plenty of things to do, and we didn't need to drive anywhere. We would love to return soon!

I stayed for a few days over New Year, and this lovely B&B was the perfect spot to relax after a long day of hiking. The room was cosy with a very comfortable bed, the breakfast was delicious, and Alan was a wonderful host, very welcoming and helpful. It's a short walk to Edale and the start of the Pennine...

We stayed at this inn last October 2016. Alan, the owner, was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and we're coming back again this fall 2017 for two nights. We would recommend this B&B highly.

We stayed for 3 nights between Christmas and New Year and we really enjoyed our stay. Alan was an excellent host - who made us feel very welcome on arrival and throughout our stay. The breakfast choice was great, especially as it catered for vegetarians too. The B&B was very comfortable and relaxing it was lovely to come back to...

The blend of historic design and modern convenience in this old house is enchanting. Big old wood beams and crooked angles combine with spacious, comfy rooms and stylish bathrooms. Room 3 on the top floor felt like our own hideaway. Plus, Alan's welcome is warm, the breakfast tasty and hearty, and the pubs of tiny Castleton are right outside the...

Alan is a delightful man who welcomes you to his home. We cannot fault the location, very close to town, parking, room comfortable and clean. However this is Alan's home and this is where our negative comes in. The breakfast room is also Alan's living room which is shared of an evening and as soon as you leave the breakfast...

Returned to explore further this beautiful area of the Peak District. This B & B is perfectly located in the village, everything is walking distant and Alan is a great host. All rooms, back & front, have views. The back rooms look across to the Mam Tor Ridge. Breakfasts will definitely set you up for the day!
