Riding House Cottages is a really lovely place to stay in the Peak District. We stayed in the Milkmaid's Cottage which is a delightful cottage for 2 people plus a dog. Every where is really clean and tidy, lots of nice touches (like soap and shower gel in the bathrooms). Even in the kitchen there is dishwasher tablets, washing up...

We stayed for 2 nights and were extremely comfortable and well taken care of. Everything was carefully thought out and Denise and David were great hosts. We even saw newly born lambs. We spent time cycling in beautiful countryside and hope to return. A great short break.

We stayed at the Riding House Farm in the Milkmaid Cottages in the middle of January for my 50th birthday celebrations. To be honest my partner couldn't of chosen a nicer place to stay. Everything about the weekend was superb. The accomodation had everything you could need. Large spacious lounge with downstairs shower & toilet & a lovely presented bedroom...

We have just returned from a week at Riding House Farm celebrating the New Year. We stayed in Shepherd's Cottage which sleeps four and is a very pleasant place to spend time. Booking couldn't have been easier. Denise and Dave are wonderful hosts and incredibly hospitable. Facilities are what you would expect from a top range Cottage. Castleton is a...

I had phoned every single Bed and Breakfast in the area for the weekend. All full. I had to plot a countryside clue hunt for an upcoming murder mystery event in Hathersage (I run a Murder Mystery Events Company - To Die For...Murder Mystery) and I only needed to stay in the area for one night. I was getting desperate...

Having just made our 3rd visit to Riding House, a review is overdue. There are 2 cottages - Shepherd's (for up to 4 people), and Milkmaid's (for 2). This review covers both as we have now stayed in both. The cottages form part of a farm, located approximately 20 minutes on foot from the village of Castleton, which has pubs,...

Shepherd's cottage was excellent with facilities to suit all of our needs whilst travelling for 9 weeks around Britain and Ireland and so far away from away from home. We can understand why so many guests come back year after year. It is located centrally to the many attractions, walks and sites that the Peak District has to offer.

Lovely cottages in a superb location with fantastic views over a magical valley. Direct views of the castle, the hills and the town. Walks all around it and pubs galore in the town. The cottage is warm and excellently furnished. Very good bathrooms, fully kitted kitchen. Warm, comfortable beds. Good parking. Free sat Tv and good wi-fi. Great hosts in...
