Fabulous little cottages, we rented out all three of them with two other families and had a really enjoyable weekend in the Peak District with kida aged 2-10. Castleton, Mam Yor etc all within relatively easy hiking distance even for the little ones, lots of caves and other kidfriendly destinations. Cottages are very welcoming with breakfast ingredients, kitchen, washing machine (great after a muddy day out), fireplace, animals. We all had a lovely day and the hosts were very lovely and helpful.

Exactly what you'd expect a peak district cottage to be, fantastic. Great position for the walks, everything you need in the cottage (we were in Milkmaids cottage) quiet, nor far from many pubs for evening food or drinks and parking right outside the door!

We only stayed for three nights but felt right at home! The cottage is very homely, cosy and just the right place to relax. Equipped with everything one needs for a break away, beautiful touches to the interior and clean facilities didn't let us miss anything. The cottage is in a beautiful spot of the peak district and invites for walks, hikes, or just pure relaxation surrounded by peace and quiet. The village with plenty pubs, restaurants and shops is just a short walk away and is also very pretty and welcoming. Such a great find. Thanks Denise & David!

After being to Riding House Farm many times and staying in Milkmaids Cottage, we tried afew days in the newly completed Grooms Cottage, a fantastic 1 double (the comfiest king size bed ever!), 1 twin cottage, with a lovely spacious kitchen, dining lounge area, well equipped, lovely furnishings in the most glorious setting on a working farm, with the friendly hosts David and Denise at hand, not forgetting Peg and Bella the dogs. Walks from the door to Mam Tor, or into Castleton itself, perfectly situated would highly recommend

Have just returned from a week in Shepherds Cottage, together with our 2 labs. Lovely spacious cottage, warm welcome from Denise who came to see us as we arrived. The view from the cottage is stunning and beautiful. Welcome gifts of wine, chocolates, orange juice and flowers - so generous. Husband had some long interesting chats with David and our 2 labs loved Bella the Labrador. We struggled to find a cottage, and could not believe this was available. Highly recommend this cottage.

This self catering cottage for two was so well equipped that everything you thought you might need was soon to be found. It was warm and comfortable, and we received a friendly and welcoming reception from the owners, who then went out of their way to help when we asked to borrow some items when entertaining friends. If you enjoy walking, or justy getting away from it all, there could be no better place to stay.

We stayed in Shepherds Cottage for a weekend in October and went walking both days. It is a good size, well equipped and well maintained. The setting is unrivalled being at the end of a 1/2 mile gravel road with views back over the Hope Valley to Winnats Pass and Peveril Castle and in the autumn sun shine it was beautiful. Mam Tor lies a short distance to the rear. The rooms are all quite spacious, the kitchen is well equipped and there is plenty of parking. We walked into Castleton both evenings and it only took 20 minutes. For walking or mountain biking it can't be rivalled.

We have been coming to Riding House Farm Cottages for over 10 years now. This is a special place, owned by very special people, who are kind and thoughtful; who will always do their very best, and more, to ensure your stay is enjoyable. The view of the valley from the cottages is absolutely beautiful. The mist in the morning is atmospheric and great for photography. They have little owls, badgers, hares, plus numerous other wildlife. The guests can also enjoy a little garden to sit in which is busy with birds. We can not recommend highly enough.

We have just returned from a week in Shepherd's Cottage. We were warmly welcomed by David and Denise, who are friendly and informative. Cottage is in an ideal location and is everything you need for a perfect holiday. Lots of lovely pubs locally and we enjoyed our visit to Tilly's Tearoom for afternoon tea.
