Not really sure what to make of the crown, our visit today was really mixed. My husband had a mixed grill that was cooked to perfection and was extremely good value for money. I had hunters chicken and the chicken was really overlooked and inedible. I should have sent it back but decided to persevere. I told the waitress and... More

Always worth a visit to the crown. Traditional pub with Great ales, and excellent pub grub at low prices. The mixed grill is a must if you're a meat lover. I would be happy to recommend to anyone as a good location. You won't get haute cuisine but you will get honest food at a great price.

Went to watch the England match, good atmosphere, landlord has a sense of humour! Couple of good ales as well as decent draught beers. I've been told the food is good so I'll be calling back to try a carvery.

Popped in for some dinner and a drink and what a gem of a pub we found. Warm welcome from friendly staff, great home cooked food, well looked after beer. You couldn't wish to find a better place to enjoy a drink and some food. Really hope to go back one day soon.

Rooms are basic and soundproofing as you would expect in a very old building. Basic lodgings, but fairly priced, with a warm welcome. Nice old-fashioned bar area downstairs, which seems to have good support from locals. Car park in the back.

I come here most weekends I am off for Sunday dinner and when they hold special events. The food is nice and the beer is cold, very homely country pub. My 5 year old loves coming for dinner and Angie always has a natter with him. You feel very comfortable and never feel rushed to eat your dinner no matter... More

I stay over at the Crown Inn if I have to stay over at work near Mansfield. It's an old village pub with rooms - so don't expect a identikit hotel. What you do get is olde world charm at a bargain price, a fantastic full English breakfast, friendly chatty owners and a wide selection of top real ales. What... More

Not really clean, no bedside lamps in a twin room, the room hardly big enough for two people, bathroom shabby, tiles wonky, shower curtain needing at least a soak in bleach. At £60 a night a rip off. We left without even trying to find breakfast as all looked closed and in view of the room had no desire to... More
