Our first YHA stay . Took our 8 yr old daughter ... Couldn't fault the Place . Clean ... Efficient .. Friendly staff and great food . Visited Conkers and walked local countryside. Can't wait to come back again ! Definitely like the YHA vibe and make going away so easy with children . Thanks to all the staff !!

This large, two-floor, modern Youth Hostel is in the village of Moira and not in Swadlincote. It is close to the village but rather quiet and isolated. The hostel has a lot of free parking within its grounds and there are a lot of places to walk and a few local towns to visit. It has a large common room...

Our family (21 of us) stayed at the National forest Hostel for a weekend and we all from the youngest (6 mths) to the oldest (76) had a wonderful time. The staff could not have been more helpful and the hostel was really user friendly. The food was great and the coffee excellent. The children all enjoyed their free trip...

Dirty rooms (breadcrumbs on shelves and on linen). Under staffed. Limited menu and food service. Kitchen facilities small for the size of the hostel and dirty. Some of the staff's manner not professional, treating people like children when serving food and unhappy to swap peas for beans? Even though these were available....so disappointing compared to other Yha's

I'm sorry that your stay with us wasn't up to scratch compared to other YHA's in our network. I've spoken to the team regarding the housekeeping of rooms and kitchen facilities and I hope this stay hasn't deterred you from staying with YHA again.

Clean accommodation with nice, friendly staff. One specific member of staff was superb and went out of her way to meet our needs. For example for an adult paying guest to conkers the YHA can secure a free child pass for one child, this is not advertised, but she made aware when I said I was going there. Very suitable...

This YHA is an absolute gem of a place. The setting is so beautiful and could not ask for a better place. The staff are as friendly as can be expected, where helpful, kind, and considerate. We traveled as a family of 3, me, my wife and our only child of 10. There where plenty of grounds around the YHA,...

I am a manager of a pre-school local to the YHA. We organised a sponsored walk to the YHA where we then settled in the grounds for a teddy bears picnic. Parents and myself visited the restaurant for refreshments, we were served promptly but was left waiting an extremely long time to receive our orders. When we approached the member...

We stopped here as a family of 4 in a family en-suite room. The room had 2 bunk beds and was very clean as was the bathroom. The facilities and grounds were excellent as were the staff. Ordering an adults meal you get a kids meal free which is well worth doing if the menu is to your liking. There...

Perfect location for a cheap get together in the middle of the country. Comfy beds, clean & tidy YHA. I wasn't expecting that ! More of a cheap hotel with cafe / bar / outside relaxing area🙂 and Plenty of outside space for teenagers to run around with a football
