Fabulous food and menu choices, especially on a Sunday evening. Friendly staff and prompt service. Generous portions and great local beers on offer. Was dog friendly and had accommodation available as well. Plenty of parking available.

Lovely afternoon tea, all freshly prepared and very well presented. So plentiful we actually took some cakes away with us! Nothing was too much trouble. Very welcoming atmosphere and all in all a truly relaxing experience. Great location too and very pretty frontage.

Should have known when we pulled onto an empty car park not to bother! Place looked closed on entering, and the building was cold. Bill was almost £50 and the meals though presented nicely were Totally bland in taste. Lasagne contained no herbs/garlic and was served only with a side salad, chips were charged at £3.50 extra making a vegetarian main £20 !! Chicken and LEEK pie contained no leeks, the pastry was thin and the contents was barely cooked. Owners were intrusive sitting near us in an empty room and talking rubbish, bragging about how much money they had. Any staff they spoke to brusquely and nobody was very well presented. Owners were more interested in warming themselves by the fire than their guests experience and comfort. Will not be returning and would advise anyone to avoid.

We stayed for bed, breakfast and evening meal along with afternoon tea. The afternoon tea was lovely and catered for our individual preferences. The evening meal was also good with plenty of choice. The inn is set in a good area with plenty of places to visit. Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, warm and comfortable but possibly short on character. Overall though a really pleasant stay.

I can really say the Afternoon Tea was absolutely spot on, good value, good variety of sandwiches and the cakes were exceptional. The staff were very pleasant and could not have been more helpful. It is just off the road although a bit of a steep incline to the car park which is no trouble provided there is no snow!

Lovely staff and very welcoming. I’m sure later in the year when the sun is shining and the weather a bit warmer a beautiful setting. The Inn and it’s surroundings are a lovely British inn. Unfortunately the inside was a bit chilly, though that was probably our fault for choosing to sit in the conservatory in January, possibly better not opened up during winter/quieter months. Our meal was pleasant, and tasty, but not outstanding. We were using a gift voucher to the value of £49 and felt that had we actually paid cash of £49 ( making our meal £24.50 per person) for our meal we would have been disappointed.)

Stayed over Christmas - from 23rd to 27th December 2023 and had a brilliant time. We and a few other motorhomes were able to park up and join in with all activities. Weather wasn't great as the wind was awful and the rain!!! well it was pretty soggy if you wanted to go for a walk!! The Dog and Partridge was so welcoming and friendly. From the minute we arrived until we left we were made to feel almost like one of the family. The host David was lovely. Making sure we were all ok and that everything was to our liking. Having our doggy with us was brilliant. This place caters for your furry friend and again nothing is too much trouble. If your doggy wants to roam about (within reason) it's fine! Lovely open fire which a few dogs liked and jostled for a spot in front of!! The food and service was second to none. Christmas eve dinner was a 3 course meal and all of us that had our furry friend with us sat in the conservatory - separate tables but close enough that the dogs could sniff each other and we could all chat together. Christmas lunch was the same set up but more food and extremely scrummy. The service was relaxed and well done. Buffet Christmas Day evening was amazing. So much choice and all home made. Boxing Day - more scrummy food and a quiz to top it all off. Met some lovely people - everyone got on well with each other and most of the dogs made friends too! We are thinking of visiting in the summer months as the views from the conservatory looked amazing. Because we are able to park our motorhome in the large car park it makes for a great few nights break. Just have a meal each night - which I would recommend as the food is extremely good. Local produce and great chief. Thank you David and Sarah for the warm and welcoming hospitality which made for a lovely stay.

Very welcoming and friendly staff. They really made our break away. Excellent food with a great selection of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. The Staffordshire oatcakes were delicious. Perfect location for walking in the Peak District. We loved exploring the area.

Met our friends for an afternoon tea as we both had been given a voucher for a gift. Contacted them a few weeks before to enquire about using our voucher there etc, they were really promt and helpful when responding. Lovely afternoon tea, nothing to dislike and plenty of tea to drink as well! All staff were very pleasant and attentive.

Lovely hotel for our first Christmas away from home. David is a great host, all staff very friendly & efficient. Dog friendly is an understatement - they adored our Labrador. Great food with good gf options as a coeliac. Rooms in grounds look a bit odd from outside but they are warm, comfy with everything needed. Comfy bed & even had a Christmas tree up & presents! Loved the treasure hunt & quiz, thoroughly enjoyed our time spent with you.
