We recently visited The Star Inn for the first time during a weekend break in the Peak District. We were very pleased to find this lovely hidden gem which had been recommended to us by our B&B lady at Meadow Lodge. We received a very warm welcome from the friendly staff and taken to a lovely round table in the...

A traditional pub with great beer, wide ranging food (lots of vegetarian options and they will mix and match for you) and friendly, relaxed, unpretentious service. The atmosphere is warm and cosy and the prices compare very well with local places elsewhere.

I was advised by the locals for dinner at this place. The inn is not on the main road, but not too hard to find. There were a few guests when I arrived. It looks like traditional pub, but with warm lightings. The beer was good and food was great. Slow roast pork belly was my pick. The portion was...

You will not walk away hungry or dissatisfied, a proper pub with hearty and tasty food. A very warm welcome. This pub is not on the main street through Tideswell so you need to spot it up the side road.

We have visited Tideswell on numerous occasions but this is the first time we went to the Star and we will certainly be back. If you want delicious, well cooked food with friendly service then this is the place for you. It is so far removed from other local tourist trap places. We went in on Saturday night and could not...

We stopped at the Star inn for a meal about 4 weeks ago, we were met by friendly faces and a warm welcome, the room was warm and the beer cold. The food was excellent by the standards in and around the Peak District matching far bigger national outlets if not bettering them, the price was surprising competitive. We have...

After a busy day at work we drove to Tideswell in search of food and drink. Popped in the STAR and the welcome received was first class. We returned for the evening meal and the food served was restaurant standard, Freshly prepared and plenty of it. Kindly produced a smaller portion form Mum and she welcomed the option. Nothing was...

At last, this is now a nice village pub, new owners have sorted this place banned the drunken locals and youth. Good food. A lot of locals seem to be returning. Website opening details not always accurate. Give it a try.

We waited over an hour for our food on a Saturday night. We had booked a table and were left wondering how it took so long to come! When the food came it was ok but not really good enough to make up for the wait. Beer was delicious though!
