We had two nights here to chill out for a few days it's a wonderful B and B. Very comfy bed. On the first night had a three course meal cooked by Tim the owner with some fantastic homemade rosemary bread. Food was lovely. In the guest lounge is a fantastic record collection which we played while drinking red wine....

Normally I don't bother with TripAdvisor, but we had a pleasant stay at the Old Lock Up, and the owner had made such an effort to make our stay comforting and welcoming, that I felt I owed it to him to leave positive feedback. We stayed in the Solicitor's Room, which was comfortable, clean, and well appointed. The inn was a short distance from some lovely country walks that we took through Black Rocks. Breakfast was served daily and was very good--a nice selection and made fresh when you get downstairs. The host was very friendly and helpful. He gave us no trouble with...

The Old Lock Up was a great place for a relaxing weekend break. we opted for dinner, a great choice as the food was excellent, the lamb shank being the highlight for me. The room was spacious and well equipped and the welcoming tea and biscuits was thoughtful. Our two little dogs were made to feel welcome, although we did...

So pleased to have discovered this perfect B&B. We stayed in the Solicitor's Room which was very comfortable and had everything we needed, even hand made chocolate and cookies! Loved the character of the house and our host was kind enough to let us take our small blind dog. I wouldn't hesitate to go again next time I'm in Wirksworth.

We stayed 1 night with our small dog. The accommodation was good value and the breakfast first class. Wirksworth itself has a lot to offer and we particularly enjoyed walking up the hill to the solar circle and amphitheater. There are plenty of good pubs and shops.
