My husband, daughter and our little cavalier king Charles stayed overnight at the Poplars and thought it was lovely. Our room was beautifully decorated and very clean and comfortable. Amanda served us a wonferful full English breakfast and was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again, maybe try one of the lovely lodges or cottages...

We stayed in the Wensleydale B&B room. It was a lovely stay with a very comfortable bed. Plus a little adjoining conservatory for our use. Delicious breakfast too! This establishment has a good variety of accommodation, with self catering cottages and Lodges, as well as B&B in the main house. There seems to be a very relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Although...

My partner and I were visiting the north with our toddler for a funeral. We were beautifully looked after at the Poplars. Very comfortable, superbly clean rooms. Double curtains/blinds to get the rooms dark for a good night's sleep. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice including smoked salmon which was a nice touch. My toddler loved the children's swings in...

We arrived late after a long day of driving, and it was so nice to have such an inviting, comfortable place to spend the night. Amanda was so friendly and helpful. Breakfast the next day was amazing. We loved it here and would certainly recommend it!

Stayed here for one night for a visit to the races the next day. On arrival we were allocated a lovely room at the back of the house, quite spacious and really clean. We were greeted with a pot of tea and some homemade biscuits and sat outside in the garden at the back which is beautiful. The bed was...

This was our first visit but we have already returned and stayed again. A comfortable room and bed and everything one could wish for in a B&B. Very friendly and helpful Amanda and family. Fabulous breakfast. There are three rooms B&B but understand there are also self catering cottages. Thirsk is within walking distance (just) and is one of the...

We stayed here for a one night mini honeymoon following our wedding. We had been graciously upgraded to the Granary cottage due to an issue with our room, and we were pleased to bits as the cottage is just gorgeous! So clean and comfortable, we were well rested. It is situated just outside of Thirsk with walks for the dog...

In room tea/coffee was perfect. Breakfast cooked to order with anything and everything you could think of. Wifi was excellent - good strong signal. Amanda was just lovely...

A family member and I stayed here during our visit to Thirsk. We were on the trail of James Herriort, the Yorkshire vetinarian that practiced here. Amanda was a great hostess. She provided full breakfasts. We had the full Yorkshire breakfast and I had salmon and lox. Our room was very comfortable and clean. It is a bit of walk...
