Simply amazing! So freaking luxurious and beautiful. The view of Mt. Bartel Frere, tallest peak in Queensland, covered by rain 24/7 I summited and returned in one day, solo. Anyways this place rocks and the food is so good it is ridiculous, no way you could ever expect it to be that good considering the location. G-d willing I shall...

Thank you so much for your exhilarating review on Trip Advisor. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the Rose Gums experience and the tempting delights produced by our chef, yet also had time to explore the wonders of Mt Bartle Frere. As you discovered, there are so many things to see and do here on the tablelands, even when...

Such a shame that we only had one night in this paradise. Everything was perfect, a warm welcome, great accommodation, amazing scenery and a first class dinner. Even saw 2 platypus and lots off beautiful birds. So peaceful and relaxing.

The quality of the accommodation and dining at Rose Gums is well documented and well deserved but they are not the only attractions at Rose Gums. During a recent visit I spent an hour before breakfast bird watching in an area of grass and rainforest edge just downhill from the reception area. During this short time I saw a remarkable...

Many thanks for your review Barry This is a typical day at Rose Gums Retreat where the birding is superb for most of the year and where there is always lots of activity. For the seasoned birder, it is quite normal to get around the forty species in a morning walk and the reason for the wealth of bird life...

We stayed here in a log cabin for four nights. The facilities were excellent and the area had some wonderful local walks. The restaurant where we ate on two nights was exceptional and quite unexpected in the back of beyond and all the staff were very friendly. We would certainly stay here again if we got the chance. The only...

We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Rose Gums and thank you for taking the time to post your review. The Hercules moth (the heaviest moth in the world) is indeed very active at sundown and you will have seen many of them busy in the rainforest during your stay. However, the sometimes deafening sound you mentioned...

A beautiful two bedroom cabin with a balcony overlooking rainforest. Fully self contained but with a restaurant of this quality don't cook your own dinner. Absolutely fabulous. The hosts are very keen to share their knowledge of the local flora and fauna. Stunning holiday and can't recommend enough.
