On our way from Känguru Island to Adelaide we visited Zimmermanns Blue Grape winery. A. very nice experience. Very friendly owners who served us nicely and explained a lot. And the have a brilliant ShirAz there! Good if you come with some time because Mrs. Zimmermann is painter and you can talk or learn about a special Kind oder paintings...

Ulrike and Hans were simply wonderful. We arrived late, but they had a fire going, wine to share and Eurovision on TV. They joined us for a few drinks, told us all about the vineyard, artwork, wine making (which in itself is an art they do incredibly well), gave us untold amounts of local knowledge and then were up at...

A lovely B&B in a lovely setting -- Hans and Ulrike were most helpful as hosts, both with recommendations and background on the Vale and the community. Breakfast was wonderful, and the accommodations were tasteful and roomy. An overall lovely stay, most highly recommended. Lovely artwork throughout (much of it by Ulrike), complementing lovely vistas to the valley. Not within...

The location is beautiful, the room very comfortable, the whole B & B is tastefully furnished & Ulrika's paintings grace the walls. It could not be more relaxing with Ulrika & Hans being the perfect hosts. They were there if you needed them but were unobtrusive most of the time. We cannot recommend this B & B highly enough for...

Hans and Ulrike make you feel at home when you arrive - they are helpful, thoughtful, friendly and down to Earth. The rooms vary in size and we stayed in the middle-sized bedroom which was nicely appointed. It could benefit from a mattress pad as the mattress was a bit hard, but other than that the room is quite comfortable...

Fantastic stay in the heart of McLaren Vale wine country, hosted by two of the nicest people imaginable, Hans and Ulrika. A lovely suite nestled in the green vineyard hills, very friendly hospitality, delicious and light but filling breakfast, and of course the wine, their own drop - the sparkling red is velvety and delicious; the 2008 Shiraz is out...

My husband and I just spent two wonderful nights at the blue grape which is a B and B run by the most fantastic German husband and wife one could ever wish to meet. The warmth and friendliness of this couple is amazing and on leaving I felt we were saying goodbye to old friends. We had the romantic suite...

We found this a very unique place during a trip with many stunning places. Imagine, you're at the edge of the world, or rather, at the edge of the McLarenVale valley which is rolling out at your feet, only vineyards miles around you, no sound from whatsoever. And then you are greeted by a charming couple who, in all humbleness...

Sleeping on wine is how hosts Hans and Ulrike put it when I suggested we were amongst the vines. Surrounded by the Zimmerman's Shiraz and sleeping atop the cellar is as close as one can be for a weekend and without the risk of a sea change. Hans an architect and Ulrike an artist, the guest accommodation is well designed,...

“There are three rooms of different sizes set-up around a common area with a fireplace, fridge and TV. The room we stayed in (bluebell suite/medium room) has a lovely private balcony overlooking the vineyards and a queen size bed. The room was quite spacious and also had a nice bathroom.”
