PARKING NIGHTMARE! There is "NO" guarantee that there will be a parking spot after you drive back to your room! Their website encouraged walking distance to several of these local attractions, but actually "The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" is 2 miles away.

The B&B is situated in an old house with all the features still in it. Original panelling, ceilings, stars and lead glassed windows: beautiful! We were greeted by a friendly and welcoming Diane, owner of the B&B. She informed us about where to go and what to do, but also about what not to do, which is always appreciated. Our... More

We are from Akron, and decided to take a quick getaway to Ohio City where the restaurants are great and everything is walkable. Our stay at J Palen far exceeded our expectations. We stayed in The Roost - cozy and lovely loft suite with a lovely outdoor private patio surrounded by greenery. The bed and pillows were terrific and made... More

We stayed in the Webster room: king bed, jacuzzi tub, large shower, private balcony. We were surprised how private the balcony was considering we were in Ohio City and within walking distance of the Westside Market. Go to the Market: the produce is beautiful. It was like walking through an art display. We found the room comfortable and nicely appointed... More

This was planned on short notice on our way further west. The accomodations are in a well maintained neighborhood referred to as Ohio City apart from downtown Cleveland. The area has a separate personality, business, shop and restaurant district. Nice area to walk and browse. Nearby "farmers" market was a nice surprise. Don't forget the "Christmas Story" house not far... More

Who knew this awesome bed and breakfast existed a few miles from Lake Erie, baseball, rock and roll, downtown Cleveland? I am so glad I stumbled onto their website! Charming in every conceivable way with a hostess to match. Thank you Diane!

My wife and I stayed at the J.Palen B&B from Thursday, August 25th to Monday, August 29th. 2016 while visiting our daughter who lives in Cleveland. We booked the Miller room for the duration of our stay. The Miller Room was a spacious suite with a large living room with room enough for a third person to have as their... More

We booked last minute at J. Palen House, and I was somewhat concerned after booking, when I read other reviews. We found that the place was charming, the staff were courteous, the breakfast was delicious, and the location was incredibly close to evening activities yet in a quiet location. Our stay couldn't have been more delightful.

This our second time @ the J.Palen and staying in The Retreat. J. Palen is indeed a hidden gem in Cleveland. The location is perfect as you are close to the best restaurants in Cleveland. The accommodations are plush and cozy. The backyard patio is gorgeous and the perfect place to toast your weekend away. The Breakfast is delicious too!... More

The main house was full, so my daughter and I were offered the Cottage - an extremely spacious, well appointed 2 bedroom apartment, for $219 (less than one room at a 3 star hotel there - a steal!). We felt quite fortunate to have landed in this part of Ohio City as we could walk to good, bustling restaurants. Interesting,... More
