My wife and I stayed at the J.Palen B&B from Thursday, August 25th to Monday, August 29th. 2016 while visiting our daughter who lives in Cleveland. We booked the Miller room for the duration of our stay. The Miller Room was a spacious suite with a large living room with room enough for a third person to have as their...

We booked last minute at J. Palen House, and I was somewhat concerned after booking, when I read other reviews. We found that the place was charming, the staff were courteous, the breakfast was delicious, and the location was incredibly close to evening activities yet in a quiet location. Our stay couldn't have been more delightful.

This our second time @ the J.Palen and staying in The Retreat. J. Palen is indeed a hidden gem in Cleveland. The location is perfect as you are close to the best restaurants in Cleveland. The accommodations are plush and cozy. The backyard patio is gorgeous and the perfect place to toast your weekend away. The Breakfast is delicious too!...

The main house was full, so my daughter and I were offered the Cottage - an extremely spacious, well appointed 2 bedroom apartment, for $219 (less than one room at a 3 star hotel there - a steal!). We felt quite fortunate to have landed in this part of Ohio City as we could walk to good, bustling restaurants. Interesting,...

There are several room choices with different price points. Our friends stayed on the main house, but my wife and I opted for "The Roost" ... a roomy two story condo in a seperate building just a short walk from the main house. It was great for the two of us. Nice court yard for happy hour. Very nicely appointed...

Great little place close to city but tucked away in a nice quiet neighborhood. Very clean and welcoming. We have stayed in the main house and the Palen room. The website has great information and pictures of all roos. Breakfast is fantastic. Great one nite getaway or weekend stay!

My husband and I liked this place so much we decided to stay two extra nights! We stayed in the Webster Room & enjoyed the balcony. Diane was a great hostess, and she gave us great recommendations on restaurants & bars, some within walking distance, and various sight-seeing opportunities in & around Cleveland.

My partner and I were in town for the Cleveland Marathon and we chose to stay at J Palen House because it was close to the start line and other points of interest like West Side Market. Our room was spacious and clean and the bathroom was recently remodeled and the breakfasts were delicious! The morning before the race, the...

This was our second visit and eagerly anticipated given our wonderful experience in the summer of 2013 (reviewed here). We were not disappointed as all the charm, amenities and hospitality were every bit as present as they were three years ago. As before, our room was beautifully appointed and comfortable. Diane is such a wonderful host. We were staying at...

This was a very well appointed B&B. There were cookies on arrival and a terrific breakfast of fruit and potato crusted quiche with sun dried tomatoes. All the little touches were there including excellent linens and amenities. The house is extremely well care for and location is good. Our host had discount coupons for the Rock and Roll Hall of...
