I stayed at this hotel in about June 2022 for over or about one month while I was getting health care at Ohio State University. Fist of all, I adore this hotel chain, IHG Holiday Inn, and whenever I travel in the USA I stay in one of these hotels and am always pleased. I am now a chain member. They were excellent!!! The hotel is spacious and beautiful! It is well located with some lovely resturants close by , shopping and near Ohio State University and all that you would need in central Ohio. There is a bus line nearby as well. Plenty of parking space. The room was lovely, comfortable, very quiet and pleasantly decorated. Hotel staff were excellent. I was applying to buy a home while I was there and one of the office staff helped me fill out and faxed and emailed the paperwork to the financial institutions for me. Very kind. There was also a lovely breakfast buffet every morning and a lovely atmosphere of peacefulness and spaciousness in the hotel. I highly recommend this very comfortable, peaceful, and pleasant hotel.

Good rooms: beds are soft and comfortable. 4 pillows per bed 2 soft and 2 firm The bed lines are. Lean and fresh The bathroom is big and very clean there are many towels that are fluffy and absorbent The shower is tall with a high shower head which is good for tall people There is a tv, fridge, microwave.
Parking: there is plenty of free onsight parking Wifi: the wifi is free and password protected with no issues with service breakfast is available – omelette’s, scrambled eggs boiled eggs, pork and turkey sausages, bread and bagels, cinnamon buns, pancakes, yogurt, fresh fruit oatmeal and much more The service is good. Fast efficient check-in and check out They have a pool, fitness centre, and office centre.
The hotel was undergoing renovations and as a result, the pool was closed and there were tarps covering some areas. Other than that it won’t cause disruption to your stay.

My family and I stayed at this hotel while visiting the Columbus zoo. It was a short drive less than 15 minutes away. We booked a two queen suite which was really comfortable and spacious enough for a family of four. The hotel itself is located very close to the interstate and next-door to Ohio State University where one of our daughters is currently a third year. It was an extremely comfortable stay and very convenient for our daughter to come and visit. The hotel itself provided a very delicious breakfast the two nights we were there and had a really nice Jacuzzi spa in the pool area. We didn’t have much interaction with many other staff members but everyone seem to be extremely professional and nice. As for the hotel the lobby was really decorative and seemed more upscale than your standard holiday inn hotel. Based on the location and the room being in well-kept condition we will definitely return the next time we are visiting our daughter and plan another zoo trip

Do not stay at this hotel. Service was awful, and the situation was not handled well. We stayed in the king bed room jacuzzi suite and it was filthy! When we initially dropped off our stuff in the room we noticed the walls were covered in dirt and make up. I flipped through a laminated pamphlet and there was something sticky on it. There was also some substance on the table, meaning it was never even wiped down. I went to the front desk and explained the situation. It was a one night stay for our one year anniversary. When we booked the room we made sure there was a pool. When we got there, the pool was closed and the hotel is under renovation. None of which is mentioned on the website. We also noticed pest control parked out front. The front desk manager gave us a 20% discount (still charged full price at the moment) and we hit the town since we couldn’t use the pool. We quickly found out that everything is closed Monday and Tuesday in the town, which is why we made sure the hotel had a pool in the first place. We got back to the room and that’s when I realized how bad it was. Burn marks in the carpet, dirt and grime all around the jacuzzi, dirt on the hair dryer and wash cloth holders, trash on the floor from previous guests (a button and straw wrapper), and even more dirt on the walls. Nothing was open, the pool is closed, and the lobby is under renovation. We sat in our room and started watching television, UNTIL THE CABLE WENT OUT! And this point we are so frustrated. When I previously complained, the woman working claimed to be the front desk manager, and that the hotel manager would be in during check out tomorrow. We wake up, go down to get breakfast to get a bagel and the hotel has ran out of cream cheese. It’s a small thing but at this point it’s one thing after the next. I go to the front desk before check out and talk to Jim. I begin to explain that I had previously talked to someone about the room and that it was discounted but now our entire stay was awful. I began to cry, I was upset that we had spent hours looking for a hotel, 4 hours driving to it, and spent so much time in money on a vacation that just added more stress. I tell him about the other things we found in the room, we really just felt like everything was dirty. Also, if we had known about the renovations and pool closures we would have simply booked somewhere.

We were very happy with out recent stay at this holiday express hotel. The staff upgraded our toom without our asking and followed up everytime we entered or left with smiling faces. The breakfast was really nice and always there to assist from picking up our trash to refilling my husband's juice. The room was spacious and spotless. Thank you holiday Inn

I travel the NE USA on Quality Control activities for a major auto insurer. I stay in hotels about 90 days a year (all IHG since that's where the corp has a 'relationship') so I know very many HIE in the NE. Yesterday in Charlotte, today in Columbus, tomorrow ???
My best guess is that I've stayed here 9 or 10 times in 2022. I can confidently say that this property has some of the best staff (Annette at check-in, the Eastern European guy who is maintenance, the b'fast lady). These are folks I enjoy seeing and who seem to reciprocate.
The hotel has recovered from the slump that all lodging properties experienced in the pandemic ~~ and seemed to take in those months the opportunity to refresh some of the rooms.
The pool always seems well maintained, the elevators are kept clean, and so far I've never had a room that wasn't fresh on my arrival. There is no parking fee here (i.e., "extra dealer profit-line"). That's important for me (perhaps because I see autos all day and in my sleep). I moved from the Columbus downtown HIE because of their nonsense parking-fee. I get to select my IHG locations and this is my first choice in Columbus.

Close to Ohio State University and that is the only real positive. Property had areas under renovation which was not mentioned when making a reservation. Property is not updated and in need of maintenance. During a stay which was an overnighter, less than 12 hours, the TV was not working correctly. One of the phones in the room was not working. In the bathroom the Bowl was loose from the floor. Need I go on? When getting ready in the morning I thought I dropped something. I checked on the floor by the bed where I was standing and lifted the dust ruffle around the bed. Well, I didn't drop anything as I though but I found a hair tie and pieces of pretzels, none of which was from my parties stay. Not really a clean feeling.Many other properties in the area to choose from. Lastly, there was one other positive to this visit. The staff. Everyone at the desk was very nice and one person even came up to our room to check the issues with the TV and the phone. They were the only positives at this property.

If your travels take you to Columbus, Ohio, I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Columbus OSU-Medical Center located at 3045 Olentangy River Road. We had the pleasure of staying here last year for the Congress and was very impressed. Our King Suite was warm and inviting, the bath area impeccable and our view from our fourth floor window was serene with the fall foliage. When we decided to come back this year for Congress, my first call was to the Hotel. My call was answered by Annette Brown, who is holding the surprise I brought her, and was more than willing to accommodate my request of securing the same Suite as last year which she did. Service beyond expectation. With only two days left in our week in Columbus for the Horse Show, the complete Holiday Inn Express Columbus OSU -Medical Center experience has again been a stress free, very rewarding and an enjoyable week. I would like to personally thank the remarkable staff for making this happen. Job well done folks.

Absolutely terrible experience. After checking out I got an email from management claiming that I didn’t disclose Covid and they charged me (my employer card) $250 for special cleaning. I traveled with some Covid tests and took one before going to my work meeting on site just to be extra safe. It was negative. I told the hotel this and let them know that I threw away the one test I took so it was concerning they went through my trash- and that Covid tests are inaccurate after the time slot of 15mins.
I filed a complaint with IHG (Its a Holiday Inn Express) and tried to escalate it since they keep telling me they will ask the hotel management to solve this issue (which they started). The Operations Manager said that they reached out to Hotel Manager who "explained to me that the PPE gear and test kit was not properly disposed although it is in the garbage bin, there are procedures in disposing bio hazard waste, according to , Hotel housekeepers are not allowed entry to the room until it was cleaned by experts handling bio hazard material. I know you have tested negative of Covid 19 and I am glad to hear that but our hotel is also taking precaution."
Absolutely frustrated with the support from IHG and the insane illegal policies from the hotel. Cherry on top is that they also sent these accusations of Covid to my employer since they were on the booking. Do not stay here! Additionally the lobby smelled of chemicals from a mismanaged pool. Who knows what fees they will randomly come up with when you stay here.

Hello and thank you for your incorrect review You left covid-19 tests around the room and did not advise the staff of your test results which would have allowed usto have been better prepared on how to have your room addressed. By not advising any person from management, our our staff at risk when they entered your room and found the tests they did. This put us in a situation to contact a third party company to come and property dispose your tests which you left around the room, on the desk. In addition, several guests had complained to the breakfast hostess about the conditions they felt were not okay at the coffee station two of the mornings you were present. All of this in addition to not being transparent and thus allowing us to take the proper precautions is what led to the commercial cleaning fee which your employer received a copy of.

The staff at Holiday Inn are top notch. All of the employees are approachable, friendly and will render prompt and ready assistance. My room at the Holiday Inn is always very clean and neat. You can tell that the facilities team and housekeeping actually care about their job and their work ethic shows. The facilities are great and any time I have an issue or question the staff handle it immediately. Recently this hotel has upgraded their fitness center. I am a person who finds themselves in a hotel alot due to my occupation and I have to say this is by far the best fitness center I have ever seen in a hotel. There are free-weights, a squat rack, bench, dumbbells and bar bells and far more than anything you would ever need. Great job on the remodeling for this gym. Would much rather exercise there. The pool and hot tub are also taken care of with kit gloves so this is an amazing place to take your family. The location is perfect just about a mile from OSU stadium and in a safe area. This place is amazing 10 out of 10 would recommend to any one.
