Hotel's Favourite
I would have given this hotel 5 stars as it was very clean. Smelled great. Easy check in.
But 2 things, the parking situation was horrendous I rolled in around 9:30, not too late. A group of people had taken over an entire part of the parking lot to play corn hole. Preventing new guests from finding parking in the immediate hotel lot.
Secondly, the outlets and lights near the bed did not work. The tv and desk light were working just fine. Strangest thing!
Other than that I enjoyed my stay. Front desk staff were very kind and very helpful.

The hotel is about a 20 minute ride with no traffic to the airport. It is located on the northern part of town next to many restaurants, a cinema and other hotels within walking distance.
The staff was kind upon arrival and got us our rooms quickly. They even had some cookies leftover
The rooms were a little dated but had a really comfortable bed and an extra large TV. There is also a desk and full size tub.
The hotel has many amenities to include a large indoor pool and spa. The weight room had cardio machines and free weights up to 50 pounds. There was also a laundry room on each floor and a shuttle to the airport each half hour. WiFi available for a fee.
There is a restaurant in the hotel lobby with a bar and they even have a happy hour.
My stay was during Covid and all amenities were open with social distancing and a mask to be worn in public areas. The city of Columbus restricts the sale of alcohol past 10 in the evening.

The pool was closed except by reservation, could only swim an hour and 2 people per room. Absolutely ridiculous!! The restaurant was closed, Reserved 2 double beds but they were the size of a large twin. The toilet didn’t flush. The hotel was very noisy. They only left 2 towels and wash clothes even though the room was reserved for 4 people. The parking lot had glass and trash all over.

Greeted by desk staff wearing masks on their chins and/or just covering mouths. Should have knew to walk away immediately. However, not wanting to risk getting hit with fees, I stayed...worst mistake ever.
Staff either wearing masks incorrectly or not at all while "cleaning" rooms. I say "cleaning" because there were kids...yes, their children running around playing in rooms that were supposed to be cleaned. Not sanitized or sealed with Hilton Stay Safe stickers.
Guests were forced to walk through crowded hallways with staff not wearing masks and share elevators with them as well. Not that they really cared as there were several room parties with guests smoking and drinking together without masks with propped doors allowing everyone to come and go.
Hand sanitizer stations were all empty except one and that was just about gone. Rooms and common areas in need of drastic repairs. Frankly, I'm shocked this is allowed to be under the Hilton family of hotels.
Do not stay!!!!

When I checked in, the front desk agent barely had time to check us in it seemed like. I had to ask her where do we go to get to our room. My wife asked the housekeeper on our floor for some more towels because there was barely any in the room to begin with, she informed my wife that she had to go ask the front desk. The same woman that checked us in wrote down that we requested towels but we never received them. When me and the family went downstairs for breakfast there was nothing for us to eat except for cereal, muffins and fruit that was questionable, it wasn’t even 10:00am and there was no attempt to even bring out more food. You had to force the room door to shut completely due to paint and other issues. Out of all of the Hilton properties I’ve visited this one is at the bottom of the bottom. I expected way better seeing that it is a hilton hotel. Let’s not no mention that when me and the family left the pool area I slipped and fell on the floor and hurt my knee very badly, an employee seen all this happened and did nothing to help at all. Then as I’m doing this review I see something about me being a honors member and some credits I could have used for food and beverage but no one informed me of this. This is the first time I visited a Hilton hotel and actually have to pay for breakfast when it’s normally free to honors guest.

Rooms and facilities are tired and showing signs of wear and tear. Poor room layout, desk is right in front of HVAC that is either off or turbo. Room was basic clean but clearly needs a thorough cleaning as there was an accumulation of dust under and behind anything large as well as the air vents. Refrigerator need a major defrost. Not what I expect from DoubleTree.

How can a renowned chain hotel justify having just one lone elevator working when it filled to capacity? Friends arriving before us said it had been like that the whole time. Some hotel staff said they were not elevator repairmen what did we want them to do, even though others confirmed this is a persistent problem for MONTHS. This meant a 25 minute wait to leave the hotel in the morning, as there was no room to board the elevator.
No coffee by the front desk at 8:30 a.m. and when I advised the lady at the counter, she did not care. Not her job! (Previously, coffee cup provided by hotel in room was defective and leaked so I was hoping for my caffeine.)
When we checked in, two double beds were not available despite our reservation months earlier specifically requesting two double beds. Do not know what would have happened if we were sharing the room with another party! We were told they had to give it to platinum members!
Housekeeping did not come when it was supposed to.
Got moved to a room with two double beds the next day....no bed had a comforter, phone was missing altogether so no way to contact the front desk. Brought us comforters but waited two days for a phone.
Hotel buffet offered at event had no food left. Only pasta and a handful of meatballs. Was told later they were not used to organizing for big groups! They ran out of food after the second table, though.
Some of the staff like Kathleen, Ryan, Joseph seemed to genuinely care and tried to be helpful. The others were almost rude.
Asked the manager to call back and left messages, but never got a call back.
There is no coffee bar at breakfast. You have to wait for the lady to bring you a cup with caffeine. They ran out of breakfast potatoes, French toast, and bacon.
My teenage son wanted to take a couple of wrapped pastries for the road trip home and this woman serving the coffee stopped him cold in his tracks, telling him he could only take one pastry, not two. You would think she would leave the kid alone after all the inconveniences we had suffered, but she just could not help herself.
The rooms were clean but definitely not at all soundproof. The first day a noisy dog barked the entire time. The next day we were awoken early by neighbors talking loudly at the brink of dawn. Bathrooms were clean. Facilities modern and nice. Several good restaurants are within walking distance and it is a convenient location for the hotel, close to interstates.

It is clear maybe 10 years ago this location was a pretty decent establishment. Unfortunately, during my stay, the room was covered in dust and the wear and tear was obvious. I can’t say I’d recommend Doubletree at this location unless you’re on a tight budget or in some type of extenuating circumstances.

We stayed here because a national rabbit show was being held in Columbus and this hotel is where the banquet was held, along with where all the other show goers were staying.
First off, I made the reservation expecting two queen sized beds for myself, my wife, our daughter, her friend, and our 6 month old baby. Nope...get to the room and find TWIN BEDS. Not only that, but the mattresses are the softest I've ever been on, and not in a good way. Roll too close to the edge and you're gonna find yourself on the floor, because it just collapses under you. No support whatsoever. Same with the pillows. My back is absolutely killing me today after the 45 minutes of sleep I was actually able to get. I probably would have been better sleeping on the actual floor, which I almost did at one point. Also, the TV in our room had the minimum volume locked somehow to a level which made us have to mute it and turn on closed captioning. We could turn it up even louder, but it would not go down.
Next, let's talk about the elevator. The one elevator out of three that actually worked. There was a constant line to get on it, and having a baby stroller, I couldn't really use the stairs. We had to wait for the elevator to go up and down several times before finally catching one with enough space to get on with the stroller. I say we, as in me and the baby, since I had everyone else take the stairs to try to save room for other people who actually needed the elevator.
Now let's talk about the banquet, which was catered by the hotel. $30/plate for a spaghetti dinner. People had to stand in line waiting for up to 10 minutes waiting for the spaghetti to get refilled for their first plate each time the pan was empty. When you have 200 or so people you are feeding, you'd think you would have the food ready to be refilled and served. And the beer? They had a cash bar, where for $7 you could get a Blue Moon. In a bottle. No glass, no orange slice, just a bottle of beer. So I went next door to the hotel bar itself and got another beer. I ordered a draft Guiness. The bartender poured me a full glass of foam and charged me $7 for it as well. Literally a full glass of light brown foam, which I had to wait about 15 minutes to settle before I was able to even drink it.
From talking to other people from the show who stayed here, they also had numerous complaints and problems inlcuding room issues. One guy even said he previously worked for Hilton for 15 years and he was appalled by how this hotel was being run. Every other time I've stayed at a DoubleTree I've been thoroughly impressed, but this place needs burnt down and bulldozed.

It might. Best bet is to call the hotel and ask him if they have a pet policy. If your bird is staying in a cage the entire time then the mess would be very minimal. Most hotels are going to give you an easy answer and a solution
We have a non-refundable $75.00 plus tax ($80.63) pet fee per room. This is so after you check-out we are able to deep clean the room for other guests who may be allergic to our furry four-legged guests. If there is excessive clean-up or damage that is caused, there may be other fees applied. In regards to pet restrictions, we welcome pets that are 50lbs and under and who are no larger than a Labrador. Owners assume all responsibilities for their pet(s), and we reserve the right to remove the pet and owner should there be any issue regarding the safety of other guests or employees.
There is a Bob Evans across the street. There are also a couple of bars nearby that feature food.
