The rooms are in desperate need of an update. The first room I was given wreaked of urine, and smells were a pervasive theme during my stay. Let me start from the beginning. When I got to the hotel they said my room wasn't ready. But after talking to the girl at the counter she went to check and turns...

Clean, desent hotel. OK standard rooms. Fine restaurant. Good quality. Rooms cleaned up a bit late in the morning. Good breakfast. Reception and bar with well working service. Interesting history as the mess and living quarters for office people employd by the old mining company.

Spitsbergen offers a quiet environment with good food and clean rooms. Our trip was work related, but it was time to taste the dinner restaurant. The announced ala carte turned suddenly in to only two choices. Nothing worm with the serving, but the hungry hunter do not need gourmet and art plates. Well.... The taste and serving was a +....

Nice people working there, nice view from the dining room, nice to be in on of the authentic places in Longyearbyen, but....... Rooms need to be refurbished, the bar menu could do with a renewal and a easy thing to fix like table cloths on the tables for breakfast, would have made a big difference, now we really felt we...

I have gone to Longyearbyen in 2003 and in 2005. I stayed in the Radisson Hotel and the Spitsbergen Guesthouse. I was the Expedition Leader for travel to the North Pole. The hotels were just great and had incredibly fantastic views. The city was packed in April so reserve you rooms long in advance and also, since most people will...

There isn't a lot of choice for hotels in Longyearbeyn, but this was a beauty. Lovely room, very warm and attractive public ares. Wonderful view from the restaurant. The staff were very helpful, you can book all excursions from reception, there is a tv screen in all hotels listing what's available that day. Only drawback is that it's a good...

Hotel has all the amenities except, for, strangely, telephones in the room. Wonder why. Nice gym, great lounge area, excellent breakfasts and, above all, very very helpful and friendly staff. Only two small negatives about the hotel: the formal evening restaurant is over-priced, and the lounge area could be better lit (current lighting makes it indeed very somber when you...

We were moved here as the Radisson Blu is being refurbished. To be honest we were quite happy with the move. This hotel has more history and is a more interesting building, The location is a 10 minute walk up the valley away from the town's main centre. Not a problem as it's on paved roads with street lights. It...

A warm nice welcome from a polite young lady who upgrade us to a suite. What a surprise. But, all the people on this hotel were very polite and service minded. You feel as you was at home, free coffee/tea 24 hour, vaffel in the afternoon, comfertable saloons, a cosy bar and a splendid restaurant. The few minutes you need...
