We stayed here for one night during a short break to Sussex. The room was good , the welcome warm, the parking easy and the garden large. We would have preferred the normal menu but Monday night is carvery and very popular with locals. This means no restaurant service but non meat meals were available to order in the bar.

Having recently stayed in London it was a breath of fresh air to stay in this friendly Inn while on a trip from Australia. The rooms were clean and the beds extremely comfortable. Furthermore, the rooms were well appointed and the breakfast was excellent. The carvery on a Monday was delicious and the entire environment was relaxing to stay in,...

We've just had a fantastic meal in the restaurant. The service was attentive, but not intrusive, the atmosphere was great and the food was delicious. There was plenty of variety and all tastes in the party were catered for. We were celebrating a 90th Birthday, so it had to be special.

Our first visit, old friends meeting half way for a long lunch, and we were very happy. Felt at ease when walking in, quite busy and most tables taken, but it was a good atmosphere , and we sat with our beers and wine, ordered off the vast menu, simple salads, Caesar and Italian. Both so large we couldn't finish,...

It was disappointing for my wife to receive verbal abuse from a very off hand member of staff/owner? - who called today and insisted that our room booking which was cancelled one month ago (recorded with BT phone records) hadn't translated onto their booking system. They insisted that we hadn't turned up yesterday and that they have charged my credit...

I have been to this place several times over the last thirty years and always enjoy it. The staff are pleasant (always an Australian or two about), there is a nice garden where one can sit or a series of linked rooms indoors which are all slightly different and equally pleasant. The food, when it comes (the only drawback is...

Sunday lunch was delicious had 3 kinds of meet huge Yorkshire pud loads of veg potatoes very reasonable portion, but leave room for the delicious puddings. Staff are friendly helpful and work...

Ate here last night with friends. The staff are friendly and the food delicious. We felt relaxed and were not rushed along so spent a good three hours on two courses catching up with our friends. Our only criticism is that it is a little overpriced for what you actually get.

We parked in the car-park behind The Middle House, then wandered into to crowded bar area with many tables occupied by people who were obviously enjoying themselves. There was a large party in one of the lounges and so we were taken straight through to the restaurant. Our corner table was perfect. There was a carafe of tap water on...

Lovely lunch served in a quaint dining room. The food was really very, very good. Other than the desert being slightly over cooked. Having said that, I ate every last mouthful. The only negative is the glassware. Sadly the wine glasses appeared to have been borrowed from Trust House Forte. Such a shame as this does impact on the enjoyment...
