Never been here before so I had no idea where I was going and once there we were greated by a lovely lady who took us into the bar and we had a lovely glass of prosecco. Taken to our seats then presented with a wonderful afternoon tea which looked amazing. Sandwiches were lovely and the scones light a fluffy....

I absolutely loved this hotel. The rooms are bright and spacious with modern bathroom. We had dinner and breakfast at the White Napkin downstairs which was fantastic. I would definitely book again. Great value for money.

Stayed at the Kiln Hotel. Beautiful rooms with great bathrooms. Really clean. Lovely staff and lovely place. Only half an hour from Standstead, Gatwick around 45 minutes away. Surrounded with beautiful parks and gardens. One junction from Lakeside.

Went to a wedding recently and stayed the night at Kilns. We had one of the little rooms on the side of the building. It was plenty big enough, clean and good décor. Shower slightly on the small side. We was in one of the lower rooms and found it very noisy at night with other guests returning, in fact...

Absolutely brilliant meal, nothing was to much hassle as there was 21 of us and the drinks are reasonable. Everyone commented on how good the food was, especially the steak and doombar pie. Alex was always on hand for anything and the staff were very attentative.

We were a party of 6 for my friends birthday tea,and everyone enjoyed themselves. It was my first visit here, and will certainly go again. The food was first rate with plenty of tea and coffee when requested.

After having a lovely Sunday lunch I decided to hold my birthday lunch here for 27 people. All discussions from the beginning were professionally handled by Alex and the wine tasting with Pat was very informative and helpful with final choices. The actual day was perfect - I had been told everything would be taken care of and it was....

We chose this venue for afternoon tea after a recommendation from a friend and as it was fairly local to all of us thought we'd give it a go. It is a lovely looking house in a pleasant location although it is a shame there isn't (or wasn't to my knowledge) an outdoor area for eating as it was a...

Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was of good quality and plentiful! Background music was a little unusual, a nineties compilation. Limited choice of teas. Only offered tea or coffee - not which type of tea. Plenty of parking. Very good value with the Groupon.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Originally built Circa 16th century, The Kilns Hotel is a classical Grade II listed Queen Anne’s building having undergone many period changes over the years. A favorite with business travelers and people visiting friends or just Brentwood. The hotel retains much of its original charm and character. However, much of its period features have been lost over time but has now evolved into an extremely comfortable, modern and contemporary style petite hotel with an air of sophistication, rarely found outside central London.During your stay, you can experience our excellent food and selection of fine wines while dining at The White Napkin Restaurant and Bar (Essex Food & Drink Awards 2010/11 finalists) which can be used by our residents, and is open to non-residents. ... more   less
