We stopped here for lunch on Bank Holiday Monday. The place was very busy and they had had a problem with the cookers, but they explained in advance that there may be a bit of a wait and we accepted this. We all had main courses - I had the chicken with chorizo and caramelised onions, sundried tomatoes and melted...

We always love going to the Ferry Boat for lunch, the food is delicious! Was particularly impressed on our visit yesterday at how the staff coped with how busy the pub was. We managed to get the last table outside but did not have enough seats for our party, we asked one of the managers if there were any more...

Visited several times over the last year, located on the edge of the marshes by the river, nice in the summer but really atmospheric in the autumn and winter, especially if you walk to the end of the road and along the river first to build up an appetite. Really like the way that the most important aspects of a...

We used the pub carpark as the starting point of a lovely walk around the Blue House farm nature reserve (if you google you can get a print out of the 3 mile round walk we did, really enjoyable!). Staff were very accommodating and happily booked us a table for after the walk. When we walked in dripping wet (and...

Last Mayday Bank Holiday, we visited this pub as our usual favourites were fully booked and we had left things a little late. Whilst noting the numerous favourable reviews, I have to say that I found both the food and service at this establishment to be appalling, and the staff utterly clueless. I thought the days of everything being OK...

Visited today with a large group,at the same time some cyclists turned up with a very rude women. The staff were not fazed and were efficient and polite. The food was very good, pies were large and well filled, ploughmans had a variety of cheeses, excellent rolls. Sandwiches were lovely. The suet pudding were scrumptious. Scampi was plentiful with delicious chips.No...

Good old fashioned pub right on the river serving good beer and pub grub. The accommodation is provided in a a newish purpose built out house detached from the pub itself. Ample free parking in the pub car park.

Have been here twice. First time was our honeymoon, (two years ago Oops should have reviewed then!) room was lovely, clean, comfortable, quiet and great value for money. I liked that the rooms are purpose built outside of the pub, so you can come and go as you please. Lovely little courtyard area to sit in right outside the rooms....
