Lovely staff very friendly. Rooms very clean and comfortable. While dated i.would say thr place has charictor short walk to cliffs pavilion and southend shopping area. But still very quiet for relaxation will stay here again.

We were looking for a reasonable priced hotel near to the Cliffs Pavilion Theatre, and this was ideal. Possibly only 30 seconds away, so ideal for pottering back after the show. Everything clean and tidy, and as mentioned before, a little dated, but so is my house! Everything satisfactory, bedroom adequate, shower also, breakfast good, at a sensible early time....

If you are looking for a 5* hotel with Egyptian cotton sheets then don't stay at The Pavilion. The rooms some will say need updating, having stayed in the double with en Suite i found it to have all the facilities you need, comfortable beds, adequate storage space, En Suite with Hot water, Soap, Tea and coffee. These converted houses...

Great owners, very friendly, polite and happy people. Rooms a little dated but very clean and spacious with all that you need in them. Breakfasts were tasty with plenty to eat. Good spot to stay, close to the seafront, gardens, the arches and the town with sea view from our room. We enjoyed our 3 day stay a lot.

I booked this last minute, directly with the owner's son. As hosts you couldn't fault them. The room was well equipped, tv with freeview, en-suite, wifi, breakfast, towels, plenty of pillows and toiletries! However the decor was dated, linens were mismatched but the added to the charm of the place! I would stay here again definitely, it was cheap and...

Firstly, don't expect a boutique experience at this hotel. What you do get is incredible warmth from Gorgina the owner, who clearly loves people and has lost non of her joy de vie despite running the hotel for years with the help of her son George who is also very welcoming and interesting. The hotel is a little ' care...

A lovely place to stay - thought the décor is dated. However, that didn't bother us. The room was huge and the hospitality from George was great. We never made breakfast as it was too early for us. It is a minute walk from the seafront and walking distance to the pier. Would definitely stay here again.

As an estate agent would say "needs to be updated throughout ". We stayed in the annex two doors up from the guesthouse. There was no heating on in any of the bedroom's and I don't think there had been for a while as they smelt damp and musty. Thank goodness that we were only booked in for 1 night...

I stayed at the Pavilion Hotel last night, the décor is quite dated, but the hotel itself if clean and in good repair, I stayed in a single room and while it was small there was everything there I needed, having read reviews I knew what to expect and I thought the hotel was great value for money.

From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed and at home - the family that runs this guesthouse is absolutely wonderful. Yes the decor is slightly outdated, but the location is brilliant and for the price you are paying there is excellent service
