We booked through Secret Escapes. Entering the castle grounds the history was there to be seen and the delux rooms did not disappoint with open fire. The evening meal included included in the deal was well presented and cooked to perfection. Staff were very pleasant and could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable.

We arrived at Thornbury last Sunday afternoon. This was the 4th leg of our 2 week journey to England. After Kensington, Warwicke Castle and Craig y Nos we were greeted by several wonderful people that were very courteous and helpful. The room was splendid, the accommodations wonderful and the food was unbelievable. They even went out of their way to...

Me and my partner went for the first time recently and were completely blown away by the wonderful castle and grounds themselves but also by the friendly and caring staff that work there. We were greeted by the very informative staff who showed us to our room where we were met by an open fire, classical music playing in a...

Stayed one night, in a deluxe 4 poster bedded room. Stunning room. Even before we arrived staff had been very helpful, answering emails quickly, thanks James and Steph!. Good quick check in, as I said stunning room, we thoroughly enjoyed dinner.... service was not slow but not rushed either. Lovely canapés in the lounge before dinner, and the venison main...

My husband booked a romantic stay for Valentines. We stayed in the Howard suite and it was fabulous! Large room with a fire, tea and coffee facilities etc. We walked Into the nearby village to explore in the afternoon, there were a few nice pubs and country walks. My favorite part of the stay was our 2 course meal. We...

The service is also 5* with very friendly waiters and reception staff. We tried the tasting menu at dinner which was good, again great service in the restaurant. We also did the...

We booked six rooms for six couples for one night to celebrate my 50th birthday. The experience from start to finish was one I won't forget. The rooms were all individual and steeped in character, also all very close to each other which was good. The icing on the cake was when we met for dinner and we were escorted...

We've stayed in a few castles before, mostly in Scotland, and the main reason we'd not stayed in Thornbury before now was that it wasn't cheap. However, it was Valentines weekend, and we'd spent the rest of it walking, so we thought we'd splash out. The castle isn't the biggest inside in terms of "common rooms". There are maybe 20+...

I had a very fantastic time here. The bed, fireplace and everything are in the room was so elegant historic, and wonderful. High tea in the afternoon were very good and, of course, Dinnere was so excellent. My friend and I had dream experience.
