The hotel definitely needs a refurb! It needs friendly staff managing this place. Food was ok ,but took ages to come to the table. It is better to eat out at another pub or go to Winchester (15 min drive) to get some decent grub! Breakfast was nothing special (disappointing) . Took ages to order and when it arrived tasted...

A very tired and dirty hotel that given its location on the face of it promised much more. The hotel staff were multi tasking and busy, but polite and pleasant. However the tables in the bar area needed more than just a wipe over, 2 out of 3 ales were off and i witnessed food being sent back to the...

The hotel is 250 years old and probably has not been decorated since. Holes in the stairs carpet are a hazard, the decor is old and tired and it was not clean. At breakfast I could not be seated because the tables had not been cleared. There was food on the floor from evening meal the night before and the...

The best fish and chips in the world! There are many highly rated restaurants which cannot hold a candle to this hostelry for the perfect triple dipped potato. After two perfect experiences we can't wait to go and see if this perfect attention to detail is. replicated throughout their menus.

Stayed 2 nights - very central position and lots of parking spaces. The hotel is crying out for a major refurbishment but here & now if you want low cost b& b and will spend your time exploring Winchester & surrounding area then this could be for you.

We had a very good night's sleep in our comfortable room in the annexe at the back of the hotel. The room was at a very reasonably priced. Our bar snack in the evening was very tasty, there were a wide range of choices for breakfast and all the staff who we met were extremely helpful. Whilst the hotel could...

Inadequate service and poor food has not encouraged our group of ladies to visit this venue again. Our group of 20 was promised table top service for our booked afternoon cream tea. The staff disappeared after serving trays of sandwiches and we were left to self serve ourself. We were not acknowledged as we left. We would not recommend this...

We have been here before, it's a Greene King, Old English Inn. Quaint design with fully stocked bar and facilities to order bar snacks to fuller meals. We had snacks and drinks at lunch time as we arrived and then further foods and drinks in the being but in the actual dining room. In the evening we were both impressed...

Very comfortable country hotel, set in the heart of Stockbridge. Popular bar and restaurant. Very good food and staff. Our room was in the annex, and it felt a bit neglected. The stair carpet was frayed, room carpet stained, and quite dusty. But apart from that we had a lovely stay, good prices, and will definitely go back. Perhaps when...

Had a lovely weekend break away. Booked the hotel for our Friday evening meal and it was lovely. Staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome. Busy the whole time but always available to help. Breakfasts were good with plenty of choice and would go back again Room looked a bit tired but the friendliness of all the hotel...
