We stayed 2 nights here. It is in the centre of Lyndhurst so great for shopping and restaurants. The room was very comfortable, lots of hot water and fluffy towels, and the breakfast was excellent. We found the staff helpful and friendly. They were very happy to make us a picnic for our walk.

Well, just one night. I happened to just spend a Saturday night in Lyndhurst. If you like picturesque, archetypal English, you wouldn't be disappointed. It's got a great range of pubs and eateries close by. The PennyFarthing Hotel is just a short walk from the town centre and a short walk to other charming pubs and restaurants close by. The...

This isn't a destination hotel, but if you want to be in the centre of the New Forest, this is a nice place to stay. The hotel is clean and bright with friendly staff. Ample breakfast, parking and hot water, although the shower can be a bit temperamental on busy mornings.

My wife and I stayed at the Penny Farthing on our parents' recommendation as they are moving into the area. However what was once a nice and friendly bed and breakfast has plummeted downhill faster than a penny farthing with faulty brakes. My wife left in tears and my parents embarrassed they'd recommended it. The basic problem is staff training...

If I were rating just on the room, this would have been a 'poor', but the hotel gained enough with location, staff and breakfast to go back up to 'average'. We booked very last minute and think maybe our room was the short straw option left. On the plus side, it's a great location, the staff were nice, plenty of...

The rooms are adequate but a bit dated it was in a change of ownership so things were going on to update, there was no bar not open, but the staff were very friendly and helpful would not hesitate to go back as loads of pubs in the town and breakfast was good all you need for a weekend away....

Just had a lovely weekend away with my hubby here at this lovely hotel, little bit tired but fantastic staff who were very helpful. Very big rooms and comfortable bed and clean linen and towels. We had an amazing breakfast with a very good choice of cereal, fry up, fruit, yogurt and toast. It's a couple of minutes walk from...

We came down for the weekend and based ourselves here for convenience for Lyndhurst. I wouldn't class it as a Hotel but more of a large B/B. The room was basic albeit it clean and the breakfast on both mornings in our opinion was quite bland ! On a positive note the staff were very polite and helpful and spacious...
