Greeted by friendly staff and a great welcome from Tony the proprietor. Our room was clean and comfortable. Great entertainment and a lovely homely feel to this pub. A big hearty breakfast. We will definitely back.

The pub had only a handful of customers and it lacked atmosphere. Nice but old fashioned in appearance, some updating/tlc would help a lot. Has many TV's so probably a good place for those who want to watch BT Sport etc. Staff friendly and drink prices reasonable.

What a fantastic place to stay - stayed the night. Everyone was very welcoming and as a woman staying on my own I felt very looked after. The most delicious scampi and chips for tea. Their wasabi Asian inspired salad dressing is just wonderful. Good night's sleep and then a very well prepared cooked breakfast. Looking forward to going again!

We booked for a Saturday night but arrived at eleven in the morning to get ready for a wedding that lunchtime. The staff couldn't have been more helpful getting the room ready, getting bags out of the car, ordering a taxi etc.. Room very comfortable, breakfast the next day was lovely, couldn't ask for more & next time we're in...

Not the Ritz, but really comfy with everything you could need. Nothing too much trouble, and a lovely touch - as we had something to celebrate the landlord served up complimentary bubbly with our breakfast! Super friendly service, clean and £reasonable. Grub and beer also spot-on. Will definitely return.

OK, it's not the Ritz but you'd not expect that. What it is, is clean, comfortable and really welcoming. Tony and the team are great and go out of their way to make your stay perfect. The breakfast was delicious I would also suggest taking the time to have an evening meal here it's really good!

This place is a little gem. I regularly meet with friends here as the staff are so friendly yet unobtrusive. We have an opportunity to catch up and sample their lovely menu and/or just spend time over tea( in a teapot!) and coffee. Keenan is one of the staff treasures.

Booked a Sunday lunch for twelve friends and family for my husbands birthday ,they agreed and provided a set menu of my choosing at an agreed price when I booked. Seafood starter and roast beef. It was absolutely fantastic , a seafood platter comparable to any I have seen throughout France or Whitstable! The beef was rare and tasty. In...

The room was adequate, but not clean to my standards. The bedding was okay but the sheets were all bobbly and the bathroom was one of those horrible plastic wet rooms with a very poor shower. We had a room next to the road which has a high volume of traffic from very early in the morning and the single...

Tony and his staff make the Silver Cup a great pub. Really good food, fab drinks and a friendly professional service. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff go out of their way to make sure you have a great visit. Good location in Harpenden, close to the town centre and train station.
