1st of all I will say I will say we enjoyed our 3 nights at the Shendish Manor, not all for the intended reasons, initially booked a standard room through expedia, later I wanted to upgrade to one of the 4 poster rooms, expedia had no access to one so booked direct with hotel and cancelled 1st booking, on arrival...

My fiancé wanted the room he booked to be my surprise (my birthday was then in two days) but when we got there, the management couldn't find our reservation. Apparently the reservation was cancelled. But ultimately, they managed to solved the problem and gave us the best room they had. On my birthday, we wanted a "romantic" dinner so we...

Manor itself is beautiful from the outside, lovely grounds & a really nice view from the orangery. Rooms are bland & dated, shower needs much more power. Staff weren't great both on reception & working in the bar, probably just need better communication & a bit more training on how to deal with the public. Breakfast was nice, lots of...

Enjoyed an afternoon tea complete with sandwiches, scones and a selection of cakes. Staff were prompt with food and tea when we arrived, at times slow to notice we were trying to attract their attention for refills/ the bill etc but nice to not be rushed and have time to talk and eat. Happy to cater to any additional needs/...

The hotel is set in lovely grounds. I would agree with another reviewer who said the place is let down by poorly trained staff. I had booked through an agency and had major problems checking in, they had no record of the booking even though it had been paid for in full. The girl on reception seemed clueless, I more...

Stayed here with the view of holding my wedding here but after this stay, not sure now. This has always been the venue I pictured my wedding but feel utterly let down. Such a beautiful location and such a shame. At check in, we'd decided not to dine in at Shendish that evening, and the receptionist demonstrated complete shock. Completely...

This hotel really is beautiful. We stayed in room 52 in the 'new' part of the building, through about 8 doors. Room was actually the best part of the stay. Clean, comfortable, under control. In the corridors were piles and piles of dirty plates and glasses left on the floor. Some had food going off still on them. It was...

It gives you the full feeling for the English Countryside. But kept in a very good state, the rooms are modern, moderate size. The food is very good, but the Menu was the same during the stay. The gardens around, include a gold course, and give a pleasant walking area.. Enjoyed the stay.. However no Gym or pool..

Pro: -Good customer service by Rod on the desk. -Comfortable room (We stayed in the Manor House room 13, £56 p/n). -Beautiful setting. -Very close to Harry Potter World. -Lots of pubs and places to eat around (we chose the Paper Mill, would recommend, review to follow). -The bar in the hotel was very reasonable however; £5-6 for a cocktail!...
