I stayed here while walking from Knighton to Hay-on-Wye at the end of March. After a hard day on the hills, I'd have been happy anywhere offering beer and a bed but the Oxford Arms excelled in every department. The building is lovely: historic, characterful and creaky in all the right places, it's as far as it's possible to be...

Absolutely fantastic friendly place very comfortable rooms . Extremely quiet And clean. Lovely breakfast. The bar is agreeable mix of old and young locals and visitors. Would be back like a shot. Kington should be proud to have such a jewel.

Don't let the outside - or the inside - put you off! This was a great little pub fantastic host and really good food. We had the Oxford burger and the ribs - massive portions! Would highly recommend here if you're in Kington

An old style, traditional pub with accommodation. A very friendly and lively bar with a good range of real ale and ciders. Fred the landlord is a no frills down to earth guy offering friendly advice and chat. The food is all freshly cooked, well presented and absolutely delicious, and can be eaten in the bar or the restaurant. The...

Don't judge a book by the cover..... The room very spacious, linen great, the landlord excellent knowledge, friendly and accommodating. Food plentiful and well cooked. Great area for walking and lots of villages near-by. Certainly worth a return trip to explore.

Nice pub in the centre of Kington. Good range of beers served by one of the friendliest landlords you'll find. Very helpful and gave good advice on what beers to try. The pub has a decent sized lounge, separate restaurant, beer garden, car parking and a number of rooms above. Good for a night out.

From the outside this pub does not have any kerb appeal. On entering things visually are not much better, however, don't be put off. We were greeted by one of the most genuinely friendly landlords we have ever met. The locals were also friendly. We had a really delicious Sunday lunch, freshly cooked and plenty of it. For sweets we...

Looking for a place to stay for one night after playing Kington golf course (dont miss out!) Rang up the previous day, and found the person on the end of the phone to be very pleasent, and friendly to talk to! (made you feel relaxed before you got there!) On arriving after the golf we entered the Oxford Arms to...
