I booked the Benchmark by chance, and will leave more to chance if this is the result. Adam has decorated and furnished the house to his taste, and it is charming, homely and immediately comfortable. I was in the midst of walking Offa's Dyke and, on a tight schedule, otherwise I would have stayed a further night at this delightful...

I've been coming here for several years when I visit from Australia and love the relaxed homely atmosphere that Adam provides. The new single bedroom is a delight and I really appreciated the comfortable bed and stylish decor. As an Australian visiting in autumn, the central heating is much appreciated. It's a delightful old cottage full of interesting nooks and...

We stayed at the benchmark after walking for about 7 hours or so and were pleased that it was easy to find the B & B in Kington. Let me say straight away that this is an unusual place to stay; it is very much a home that has a B & B element to it. Stay here and you...

Stayed here during Hay festival. All reviews were excellent and I have to agree with them that Adam runs an excellent b&b and is a great host. It's very unusual as it's such an old house and Adam has furnished it really well. It's super clean and the breakfast is great with his home made marmalade. And there's a great...

I love quirky and did indeed love here. It's a really homely home where the owners are very ecologically friendly. They even make some of their own clothing (ask them about it, it's great). In the dining area you'll find historical pictures, musical instruments, a view out to a busy garden where vegetables are grown, and of course looms for...

We are in the throes of a long-distance walk and needed some extra 'beyond the call' help. Adam could not have done more for us and we are indebted to him. On top of that we fully support his Eco-friendly beliefs and credentials.

Host Alan makes the walker feel very welcome at their arrival. The rooms are cosy, catered by Coffee and Tea and - for a change - not a television. The absense of the last proved to guarantee a good night's sleep without being woken by neighboring sounds. So I read my book. That was nice. Had a couple of nice...

Have used as a stop-over on several occasions and found it a wonderful place to stay. OK, the bedrooms are not large, nor do they have ensuite facilities or TV but they are clean warm and comfortable. You will also appreciate the fresh milk, coffees, teas and infusions that your host Adam provides in the rooms. An interesting and quirky...

Single room I stayed in was so cosy (As was the the entire place) & had such a comfortable bed! Brilliant breakfast including freshly ground coffee. Adam is so attentive. I was even asked if I had any dietary requirements. In a word… brilliant! Benchmark is a real treasure to Kington and the UK.
