Didn't stay here only dropped in for lunch Had a great lunch here today. It was not quick in coming but it was worth the wait. I had fish pie and my husband had the combo burger. Both were very good. Sussex bitter was very nice.

A bit tired from the outside and inside. Smells of cooking oil and has a distinct lack of ventilation. Grease everywhere on most surfaces. I was in the room at the top and I could never stand up due to the low ceiling. Showering was a real sit-down challenge. TV did not work and breakfast starts at 0830 because "That's...

Booked 2 rooms for one night. Rooms were clean and well equiped for the price (TV, WIFI, Tea/Coffee making, ensuite), the beds were comfortable and extra blankets / duvets were provided. We stayed on what was probably one of the coldest nights of the year and the rooms were cold. This wasn't a big deal as the beds/duvets were warm...

Band playing until 11:30pm may as well be in my room. Management didn't give a flying pig when I complained. Response was that we're a local pub not premier Inn. Says on our website we do live music.how about starting with your 65 quid a night prices then. Don't charge prices for something you're not!!!!!

We arrived at the Ship Inn in Dymchurch to spend a relaxing couple of days. We chose the Ship Inn because we wanted to stay somewhere a bit different. The stairs were a little steep and the floor in our room was slightly uneven, but the Inn is 600 years old, so we were expecting something like this. Our room...

Stayed here for two nights, and feel let down with our stay. Decor and furnishings of the room were very old fashioned and could have easily been refreshed. Also had an awful smell in our room, which we weren't sure what it was, but was very unpleasant. The kettle in the room was full of limescale so couldn't even have...

We overnighted after a day trip to France but nearly didn't book it fearing the quality because the price was so low. However, the room was a normal inn type room with a comfortable bed and en-suite shower & toilet. Breakfast was excellent but it has to be booked in advance at an extra cost of £5 per head -...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Ship Inn is steeped in nearly 600 years of history and is a lovely venue for a drink with friends or a traditional home cooked meal in our Restaurant or bar, accommodation in one of our 8 rooms, some ensuite. The Ship has a restaurant and two bars where traditional home cooked food is made by our new talented Chef. We always aim to make the most of Local Produce. At the Bar we have a good selection of Real Ales and Fine wines alongside premium lagers and bottled beers. Russell Thorndike weaved The Ship Inn (his local) into his famous Dr Syn novels. The Ship is alive with Dr Syn art and character. We have a collection of Dr Syn related merchandise. ... more   less
