Stayed here for three nights. The room (12) was superb, you could well believe this was an hotel, not a pub. A range of sundries provided as well as bath robes, ironing board and iron. A nice welcome, staff very helpful - particularly about the parking as you have to use a nearby pay carpark. Food really good too -...

We went here as a large group. We pre ordered and all the food came out together which was good considering the size of the group. All the dishes were very good and everyone enjoyed the evening. The service was also very good.

We stayed here on a dinner, B&B package as part of the brewery tour. The staff were very nice and helpful when we arrived and were quickly shown to our room. The room was small but fairly well equipped. Ours overlooked the small beer garden so was quite noisy. The bed was only a double which was cosy when you...

Reception seemed a little haphazard on check in (but we were early). Our stay was overnight and we ate lunch, 3 course evening meal and breakfast there. The food was delicious, as was the beer. One of the toasters broke, so this part of breakfast was slow out of the kitchen but the excellent staff could not have done more,...

Stayed here for a night on business and couldn't have asked for anything more. All staff were very polite and helpful and the room was spotless and included toiletries such as shower gel and a toothbrush. A kettle was provided with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and shortbread fingers! An iron and ironing board was also in the room and an...

Arrived when bar was open, so not obvious where the reception was (when accessing from the car park to the right of the bar, from West Street, go round to the back of the bar). Had 2 rooms on both sides of the building, the room to the back of the bar was fully accessible with wet room and looked...

We ate in the pub restaurant the food was delicious, lovely real fire in the bar too. The cooked breakfast was excellent particularly the Vegetarian one,...

Just a quick overnight stop. A warm welcome, excellent beer, good quality food and a well thought out, comfortable room. Great value and a real credit to UK hospitality. Safe overnight storage for bicycle much appreciated too.

If you enjoy staying in historic hotels/inns then this is your place. It has such character. The place dates from the medieval period - some parts of the pub are 14th century. I stayed in a gorgeous and very spacious room with a huge and very comfortable bed and adorned with authentic and historic wooden beams everywhere. I had a...
