A very charming and pleasant location for our 25th wedding anniversary. The hotel was very understanding and helpful when we had to cancel our initial reservation due to (non COVID) illness, and our subsequent stay this weekend just gone could not be faulted. Our small but charming and comfortable room had a wonderful sea view, was clean and very stylishly furnished. Lovely setting, excellent breakfast and very friendly service throughout. Highly recommended.

We didn't get the room with a balcony we were sure we had booked with the hotel. On the day of arrival we spoke to reception requesting the roast dinner as advertised on the web site. On arrival we were shown to the restaurant and chose fish and chips which we waited for over an hour to be served, on our departure we queried this and were told " we haven't done the Sunday roast for ages" The very expensive breakfast is ok if you want a full English every day, i asked for poached eggs and was told "we don't do them "The next day a guest asked for poached eggs and it wasn't a problem so the following morning I asked again for poached eggs and was told "we don't do them" yes you do I replied a guest had them yesterday " Oh sorry" was the reply "I thought you meant Scrambled eggs" a bit of extra staff training wouldn't go amiss, neither would a more flexible menu, continental Breakfast, a choice of eggs, a better selection of cereals rather than just Muesli, Granola or a mixed fruit bowl. We were also advised that room service i.e cleaning etc would not take place because we are operating within government Co-vid guidelines, so for 5 days no beds were turned down, bathroom and toilet were not cleaned and if we hadn't spoken to the cleaning staff no tea making facilities would have been cleaned or replenished either. At a minimum at least a toilet brush and a cleaning cloth could have been provided to allow us to keep the small room clean. In short I wouldn't stay here again

We visited the cafe at the hotel continental for the 2nd time yesterday evening, we really like it there. Great sea views, friendly and warm staff and a very talented pianest playing while we drank our coffees.
