This B&B stands in its own grounds, with very adequate free parking. The welcome, from either Simon or Pauline, is always extremely warm and the rooms, very adequately appointed, are also competitively priced. Breakfasts are served with a smile and nothing is too much trouble. The only slight caveat is that the rooms can get very cold at night.

The Cedars is excellently placed for the town centre. A warm welcome and friendly staff made it a wonderful stay. The room was well furnished and clean, with an en suite bathroom. Tea, coffee and kettle was provided, though no toiletries in the bathroom. However, for room and breakfast this is excellent value for money.

The previous review is unfair. If you pay £20 or £30 more then you can expect a super clean carpet etc. However, for the price it is very reasonable (breakfast included and much better than Holiday Inn etc). Plus nice big garden.

I booked this bed and breakfast for my parents to stay in when they came to visit me. On entering it smelt of stale cigarette smoke. We were greeted by a pleasant man who showed us to the room. It had stains all over the carpet thick layer of dust on the skirting boards and pictures in the room. The... More

I have been using The Cedars for well over a decade when I travel up this way for work and have brought the family up to visit Drayton Manor too. Always guaranteed a warm welcome from Simon. Good-sized car park, lovely gardens, excellent breakfast - really can't be beaten at that price. Very handy for a short stroll into the... More

Stayed here whilst cycling solo from Lancashire to Sicily in May 2014. Made very welcome by the owner and my bike and I were accommodated in the large downstairs front room which was clean and comfortable and well kitted out. Good evening meal venues close by but breakfast was a little basic and disappointing. Overall, a reasonable and good value... More

Stayed here for 2 nights as our son couldn't accommodate us on this occasion. Usually stay in Premier Inn but as it was Download Weekend, they had doubled their prices! Chose this because of good reviews on here, but I think those people must have stayed in a different place! The bedding and towels and bathroom were ok, the rest... More

I booked by phoning The Cedars directly and my booking was clearly not recorded properly. The alarm bells should have rung when I had no written confirmation of the booking before leaving home. On arrival there was no-one about and an air of slight neglect. A note on the locked door gave two contact numbers, one was switched off and... More
