My friend and I had a Sunday lunch sadly no Christmas trimmings on offer even in Dec The young man who served us was friendly and helpful but little things would make a lovely place so much more appealing like having a menu printed and laminated not some scrap dog eared paper with only desserts on it The waitress needs...

Went for an impromptu meal with friends. The hotel was lovely and warm and we were warmly greeted by the bar staff. Two of the party had lamb and the other two had chicken stroganoff, all our meals were delicious, we were well looked after by the staff and the chef sent extra sauce out, just in case we needed...

6-10pound meals excluding specials. Very yummy. Gammon Steak, steak and ale pie was very good. Good service, friendly new woman landlords. Surprised more people in village don't start coming out4tea. As is now back to being a very good value feed in a really warm pub.

We have two pubs/restaurants in our village. One at the bottom of the hill and the Sheffield Arms at the top. It has had a chequered history over the years with fantastic people running it but unfortunately the brewery calls the shots. We now have a lovely chef in Clare who is also now the Manager and Landlady of this...

Had a meal in this public house, which was exceptional. Staff and landlady were very friendly and made you feel very welcome. We will definitely visit again when we are back in the moment. There was a music quiz on the evening we visited, the locals made us feel like one of them.

We recently held a party at the Sheffield Arms, affectionately known locally as the 'Sheff' and the food, service and value for money was quite remarkable. Under new management, the pub, which has languished somewhat over the past year or so has been revitalised by Claire the new landlady and is increasing in popularity. We would recommend this place as...

Visited for Sunday lunch (staying at Brookside caravan and camping site just down the hill - HIGHLY recommend!) Doom bar bitter lovely (pulled slightly flatter than they do in Huddersfield but tasted wonderful) prawn cocktail for me to start, chicken livers for the hubster with freshly baked hearty healthy whole grain bread (plant pot style with butter) mmmmm. We both...

After and initial visit where we both had the home made steak pie and thoroughly enjoyed it we tried again. Sadly the steak pie was unavailable so the chicken pie was chosen. I doubt if it was home made, it was a typical shop bought job, full of a white sauce and really very little chicken. Hardly any chicken at...
