Fantastic food, great staff, excellent range of beers, all in all a superb local pub, dogs welcome in pub and also has a lovely beer garden. Themed nights including French night with excellent menu, steak night and a fish and chips night, all excellent.

Stayed overnight on a whistle stop trip through the Dales, thoroughly blown away by incredible food. Huge choice with appetising specials board and knowledgeable staff. Lamb shank and game pie were first rate, nothing more required. Breakfast was also incredible well presented and cooked to order-you were also able to pick what items you wanted rather than set menu. Food...

A traditional Dales pub set in a beautiful location. The rooms have recently been refurbished, all are now en-suite; not huge but very well presented. The food is fantastic, some lovely touches and really quite varied with a large specials board that is easy to miss. The breakfast is one of the best I've had. The atmosphere is friendly and...

We ate at the Game Cock Inn the night before and after we completed the 3 peaks challenge. On both nights, despite being very busy, the bar and waiting staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The food was both hearty and delicious and thinking about what we might have off the menu after we had finished the challenge kept us...

We've stayed here on many occasions and whilst the food was always top notch, the rooms were in need of a refresh. Just got back from a stay in the new rooms and they are amazing! Now all ensuite with the comfiest bed I've stayed in for a long time! The decor is superb and the home made cake just...

We visited on French menu night. The offer menu was very limited, but the standard menu had plenty of French alternatives. The French onion soup was excellent, but would have been better with French bread. The rabbit and the tartfillade were both excellent. Too full for any more than that.

Called into the quaint B&B and public house and had a lovely lunch the food was really tasty and the staff very friendly. Easy to find and amidst an excellent walk up to ingleton caves and gaping gill.

On our first visit to The Dales we went to The Gamecock Inn for an evening meal. It was simply superb, we went on French night which was nice, we chose to have the lamb shank on recommendation from the lovely friendly waiter. It was the best we have ever tasted, succulent and melt in the mouth. We enjoyed it...

Had a quick lunch and the service and food was good for the price. The food presentation was good. The staff were also very friendly. They also offer a little bite for our puppy. It's a dog friendly pub. I will visit again.

What a fantastic place to eat, drink, stay over and relax! Friendly attentive staff, beautiful bar area, it was wonderful to sit and have a glass of wine next to the open fire on a chilly afternoon. The food was outstanding and well priced and then once we were full we went up to our newly renovated accommodation! Well wow...
