We visited westholme for a 4 day break. It was absolutely lovely. Lodge was clean, modern and a great space. Beautiful surroundings, perfect for walks. bar on site isn't great and staff weren't very helpful.
Would definitely recommend if you want a quiet chilled trip....More
Booked a Maple VIP lodge (No 4) for 4 days last minute for a great price. The lodge was spacious with two good sized bedrooms, nice kitchen which included a full size dishwasher. The hot tub was great and maintained daily, be prepared to be...More
Before booking a VIP cedar lodge (38b) we read the reviews on trip advisor and some were bad and some were ok. We decided to chance it as we thought it must be ok if we are booking through Hoseasons. We were really excited for...More
I have just returned and unpacked from a gorgeous little getaway at this lodge. I have no idea how this place has so many negative reviews. We booked pretty last minute and got a steal of a price in a cedar VIP suite. The two...More
We have stayed in many log cabins over the years and I'm sorry to say none have ever been like this. I've given 3 stars as the surroundings are so pretty and within walking distance to Aysgarth falls. It's also a short walk to AFH...More

There is a lovely play area at Hawes just as you enter the village it's about 15 minutes away. The staff are very helpful and would be able to give you more advice.

I returned from Westholme yesterday West Burton dose have a pub and a small store which is to the left as you turn of the estate. If you turn right up the steep hill there are several villages to the right at the cross roads all have little pubs which welcome children and dogs. If you travel 7 miles you will come to a small town Leyburn this has a large co-op and lots of little shops there are about 6 pubs all welcome children and dogs tea rooms and bakery. Leyburn is also very nice to have a place walk Leyburn Shawl. Instead of turning right at junction turn left to Aysgarth couple of nice pubs which do food and if you go down to the Falls park on the National Trust car park which has a cafe shop toilets etc and the will give you details of nice walks. If you carry on through Aysgarth for about 8 miles you will come to Hawes lovely village chip shop to die for but not cheap about £6.50 for fish and chips but worth every penny, as with all the villages there are also several pubs, Tuesday is local market day so can be busy. The Creamery is also worth a visit Nice play ground for the children just as you enter the village. The family that run Westholme are more than happy to advise you of places to visit and can provide details of walks etc. The nearest large supermarket is Tesco in Catterick you can order on line and have your shopping delivered for your arrival. Lightwater Valley is not to far away at Ripon if you fancy a day at a theme park. Enjoy your stay and make the most of your hot tub.

I stayed in a sycamore VIP with my husband and two kids. The location was perfect, the lodge was lovely. The lodge could maybe do with a revamp but that did not take anything away from what a fantastic time we had. The hot tub was at the side of the lodge at the back. We were with the kids at all times whilst they were in the tub but they are 7 and 3. I'm sure you will have an amazing time x
