Visited the old Royal Oak on Sunday 2nd of April, with friends from West Yorkshire. Asked for 2 pints of bitter shandy, as was driving back to West Yorkshire that afternoon. Barman told us he was not prepared to use his cask ale to make a shandy. Great advertisement for promoting drink driving. I have never met such an arrogant...

Went last night for the Steak Night at £23 for 2 steaks and a bottle of house wine. Excellent food, well cooked and served by lovely staff. Great that you can choose from 3 types of steak and the house red was a very pleasant surprise for a house wine. We have previously had Sunday lunch so would recommend anyone...

Stayed for two nights in January with my husband. We had room 5 in the stable block which was light and airy with old beams which added character. There was plenty of beverages to choose from with the normal facilities of hairdryer, kettle etc. The only issue with the room was the mattress was extremely firm which caused issues for...

We stayed at The Old Royal Oak for a two night stay to visit family. The room on a B&B basis was reasonably priced at £80 for a week night, and £90 for a weekend night. Our room was adequate, with on suite shower room and tea and coffee making facilities. The room was well presented and clean. I only...

Went here for a quick pint while in the town. From outside it looks lovely but inside is a different story. The chairs are worn and worse for wear and the floor was a little sticky for my liking. The drinks were cheap which is an upside but the atmosphere is a little tense and unwelcoming. The walls are covered...

Stayed here for one night during a business trip and my room was in the stable block, it was very comfortable, spacious and clean. On a cold night it was warm enough once the room heater got cranked up. The manager, Rob, made sure everything was ok and was always on hand if needed. Must also compliment on the quality...
