Just returned from a two night stay at The Kearton. This is a lovely country inn and tearoom at the foot of Kisdon Hill in the village of Thwaite in Upper Swaledale. Paul and Wendy go out of their way to make this a warm and welcoming place to stay. The log fires seemed to be permanently lit -lovely to...

My husband and I stayed here for a mini break recently and were very impressed. We had a great walk and returned to a cosy fire and an excellent meal. The grouse was delicious. The Christmas decorations were lovely and it gave us a good start to the festive season. The staff were extremely helpful. And Thwaite is lovely.

Stayed here for one night with my Mum during a recent weekend away in North Yorkshire. We both loved it. Great service lovely food and felt at home. Big roaring fires made it very cosy when it was very cold outside. Will definitely be back thank you to all the staff for making our stay fabulous.

We stayed for two nights over August Bank Holiday weekend. They were fully booked but still somehow managed to rearrange things to give us a better room when we arrived. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was perfectly adequate not perhaps what you would call luxurious. Only real criticism was the shower. I've seen more powerful watering cans....

This place is excellent value for money we had a nice comfortable room which was very clean and tidy. Our shower wasn't very powerful but it was nice and hot. We had dinner bed and breakfast which was fantastic value. The food was perfectly fine, not anything to write home about but traditional well cooked fare, lots of choice and...

Kearton Country Hotel is located in Thwaite - in the beautiful surroundings of the hills. My friend and I had booked twin beds, but we got a room in which they where put together to a double bed. We had to rearrange the room in order to get it as we wanted it - quite annoying. We had booked dinner...

Hotel provides not only good value on a DBB basis but the dinner was really rather good. The dinner is based on a single sitting, with guests meeting in the lounge or bar for a pre dinner drink at 6.30, ordering your meal (3 courses with plenty of choice - I guess you might call it "modern British" food) and...

Just returned from our umpteenth visit to this wonderful family run hotel. Everyone is so friendly it's like visiting family. Everything is excellent, from the tasty food to the comfortable clean rooms and is excellent value for money. Nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is set in a lovely Dales village with views to die for, with lots a...
