Our stay for 2 nights, was really good. I particularly enjoyed the first evening when we were all able to sit at one table for dinner. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The table was huge- just the job!. The wedding reception was in the most lovely function room and the courtyard/walled garden was ideal for photographs. Breakfast in...

Lovely hotel, beautifully decorated and maintained. The Superior room was extremely comfortable with an exceptional bathroom. Dinner and breakfast were freshly prepared to the highest standard. All the staff were friendly and professional.

Hotel and bar are very welcoming, staff were very friendly and helpful.. Right in centre of town. Only let down was slow service at breakfast, although when it did arrive it was excellent... Breakfast was nearly an hour.

We had a lovely stay at The Talbot Hotel, Oundle. Beautiful 17th century architecture, clean rooms, really helpful and friendly staff. Hotel situated right in the middle of the small, very quaint town. Town has good selection of cafés, restaurants, gift shops etc.

We booked this hotel at last minute over the easter period. Have stayed in this group of hotels before but not this specific one in Oundle. What a little hidden gem. Lovely period hotel but with modern twists throughout. The bar area and restaurant is lovely, staff friendly and welcoming. Breakfast delicious and plentiful. Will definitely stay again.

Opportunity for quick walk down memory lane (used to live in Oundle) & stay at the Talbot hotel prior to a business meeting in Peterborough. Hotel layout changed a little since my last stay & it's been nicely refurbished too, but the same friendly welcome & good service. Character & history, for a competitive price.

A super hotel with excellent cuisine, friendly staff and a great centre for historic visiting. We also visited Fotheringhay Church as the Talbot Hotel in Oundle is linked to the tragic events of Mary Queen of Scots at Fotheringhay Castle (remnant) nearby.

Great place to stay for the character but the food was ordinary for the price. Staff were efficient without being friendly. We have stayed numerous times and been very happy. However on our last visit felt that there may have been changes to the management/staffing of the hotel. It lack the upbeat and positive feel of previous visits.
