Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - a lovely mixture of contemporary decor in a beautifully traditional stone building - lovely comfortable bed, with quality linens, excellent breakfast, and friendly, helpful staff. We paid £90, which we thought was fair, but the £130 advertised price would have been excessive - I would expect 5 star for that, and, although lovely, it...

I was staying nearby in Alnwick on a business trip. Given the recommendation of a nice place to eat. The place looks appealing from the outside and inside is modernly decorated. This is where it ends the staff attitude is poor and a lack of customer service skills. The meal was average with small portions and to make it worse...

We stayed at the Plough for Valentines weekend. The establishment was decorated beautifully with an old rustic feel to it. The staff were so welcoming and eager to help. Our room was amazing, decorated with wood panels and a ginormous bed, very comfy! Breakfast was delicious, we both had a cooked full English and there were plenty of cereals to...

Stayed here for one night as we had a meal booked at the treehouse. Room was very nice, breakfast was nice. Plenty of room in the car park. After we had been for a meal and a few pubs in Alnwick the Plough had great atmosphere with plenty of people in the bar so had a night cap. Will definitely...

We chose to stay at The Plough as we had a reservation at Alnwick Treehouse and the hotel is only a few minutes’ drive/ten minute walk away. The staff  were really friendly, helpful and welcoming. The room was nice, albeit small, but was clean and nicely decorated and had a lovely bathroom. Our only complaint was that the room got really,...

Stayed here on Saturday the 13th for one night. We stayed in a "small double" on the first floor, it was small but nicely decorated and clean. It was noisy as the corridor was about a metre from the bed and the door had a gap underneath it, with the restaurant a few metres away and the bar both very...

Stayed for two nights, the room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and always ready to help. Food was well prepared and good value. Cooked breakfast in the morning was a delight. Would recommend for a short stay.

Excellent weekend stay. Great food in a relaxing environment. The rooms and hotel were well decorated, very clean and tidy. The team of staff really helped to make the weekend. Fantastic service and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended and will definitely go back!

There appears to be a two tier pricing system for locals and visitors on beer prices. Unfortunately staff appear confused as to whether you are local or not, so each round can be priced differently. Perhaps we need to attend this bar with an Alnwick passport to avail ourselves of this inducement.

A welcome change to pub with accommodation. Excellent quality and friendly staff. New make over rather than olde world charm but well presented and comfy not stark. Great location near castle, gardens and town centre. Big car park too. Rooms good size and well appointed.
