A very close friend of mine asked me to be bridesmaid at her wedding that was happening in August; she informed me that the wedding reception was going to be held at The White Swan Hotel in Alnwick so I booked a room for two nights for two people at the hotel. At the time of booking, I inquired about...

My partner and I have just returned from a visit to Alnwick which we made just to visit the White Swan hotel. We are big Titanic enthusiasts and we work in Titanic tourism, so we came to see all of the original pieces from Titanic's sister Olympic. All I can say is we were not disappointed. The Olympic Suite took...

Stayed here one night to visit Alnwick Castle next day. From start to finish the staff in this hotel were the friendliest and most helpful we have met in a long time and deserve a special mention. The receptionists couldn't have been more helpful, providing local information and maps and the restaurant staff were friendly, helpful and efficient and happily...

We booked 2 double bedrooms and one twin for accommodation during a family wedding. I had a sleepless night due to worry as one of our guests - My gran - was admitted to hospital after collapsing during the wedding. (She was unable to stay overnight in the twin room.) My son was the other occupant of the twin room....

The staff were good, the food was good but our room 208 was not brilliant, an attic room, quite basic, very small round window, had to unhook curtain to close it, no pictures or photos on walls, no headboards on beds, one very small piece of soap for both basin & shower, small shampoo but no conditioner & no facecloths....

Dear Guest, My appologies that we did not live up to expectations. In terms of wifi, as per my previous review the hotel system is superb and I can only conclude that there where contributing factors this weekend. It is certainly very good at present. Ice can always be requested from room service and we will gladly deliver to your...

The White Swan Hotel enjoys a fantastic location in a wonderful part of the world; and it could be a great property providing that enough capital was invested in hardware and management up-skilling. The staff, without exception, are extremely pleasant and professional to customers; their approach to customer service simply can’t be faulted. That said, friendliness only goes some way...

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for your feedback. WiFi has never been an issue at this hotel, quite the opposite infact so there may have indeed been contributing factors. So, if you are on business do not be concerend. Personally i work with a laptop often on the hotel guest wifi system and it is comprable to the best domestic arrangements....

As a venue It had the potential to be very good. It was at best and kindly very nearly average. Table could have had a wipe down. What was delivered as afternoon tea did not reflect that displayed on their website. Tinned tuna sandwiches! Ham chunks lathered in mustard. Tea served in a coffee pot! I think not!! Very disappointed....

We've stayed here a few times. The rooms are fairly small and very hot so it's windows wide open and radiators off as soon as possible. The hotel holds its age well and breakfast in the Olympic suite is a treat. We've only had dinner there once but it was very good fare with a great bar selection to boot....
