Decided to go away for Easter and chose beautiful Alnwick. I have never been to this part of the country before but will definitely go again. We stayed at The Oaks Hotel which was lovely. The room was large and spacious, with complimentary tea/coffee, unfortunately only one cup, not the end of the world though. There was plenty of storage...

Dropped in for a light lunch and pleasantly surprised to find moules on the specials menu. Starter size very substantial served with a warm mini baguette. With a glass of wine each, bill came to under £25. Have never been disappointed by the food here

Called in for lunch yesterday, had soup for a starter I can say it's the worst excuse for a soup I have ever had. It was a puree of vegetables that resembled baby food so thick awful mains weren't too bad but I will not be returning. The staff were friendly and efficient and the pub was very warm and...

We arrived at 8:40pm and there were other people dining. The free tables were ready for breakfast in the morning however they rearranged a table without fuss for us to eat at. Food arrived in good time. I have to say this was the best meal I've tasted in a long time! I ordered salmon with risotto and my partner...

My husband and I went to the Oaks on Sunday 7 February 2016 for Sunday Lunch. Brilliant selection on the menu, but we decided on the Carvery. There was a choice of beef, pork, lamb or turkey and you could have 2 of the meats if you wanted. I had beef and turkey and my husband had beef and lamb....

We were in Alnwick for one night for a family wedding and had booked two family rooms and a twin room. The staff were friendly and helpful as we arrived early and quite happy for us to leave our bags despite this. The rooms were large, clean, and comfortable. The decor in the corridors does need updating as a previous reviewer has...

I'm not able to be enthusiastic over this meal, I just writing it as I experienced it. We had booked for the Christmas Fayre over 60's menu. The huge Yorkshire pudding hid a slice of meat, and I mean one slice. I appreciate this was an over "special" offer, not one I'd repeat. I still haven't worked out what the...
