When we visit Alnwick my husband and I always stay here or at the boutique accommodation opposite.
It offers everything we need. There are no owners just the guests. Very quiet although the road can get quite busy in the day if you stay in...More
Very nice ambient guest house with great position for Alnick, Gardens and Castle. Lovely room and very comfortable. No breakfast but the Plough opposite provides a lovely breakfast and parking for Tate House is behind the Plough. Recommended
A lovely place to stay with friends, perfect for 3 couples. The rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The location is very close to restaurants and within walking distace of the castle, gardens and Barter books. Will definitely stay here again.
Nice place. Everything in very good condition. Ideal location 5 min walk into the town centre.
Parking across at the Plough. (Tip. the gap to drive the car through into the Plough car park is very narrow. You can use the entrance just before the...More

The Alnwick Gardens is usually open 364 days a year. Only ever closed for Christmas day. However, due to a major refurbishment of the gardens in January this too will be closed for a month. However, you could always go visit Barter Books, one of the largest secondhand book sellers in the UK. There is also miles of unspoilt beaches with some dramatic scenery to be had. January isn't the best time unfortunately due to the lack of opened attractions. But we are seeing lots of walkers this time due to the lovely weather.
